Leatherman Micra

Gerber Splice

SOG Cross-Cut

I have a Maxpedition Micro EDC pouch, any of them would fit nicely.  They all have similar features.  They are about the same price.  Just looking for feedback on the quality.

But if I had to vote, it would be the Leatherman Supertool.

I have a 22 year old leatherman tool.  Used it for patrol duties.  I also have a
SOG similar to the leatherman. I prefer the leatherman.

I use the LM SuperTool v.1 and have had good luck with them over the years.

Right now I'm carrying a SAK SwissChamp and like that, although it's not as robust as the ST.

Best of the multitools is the Victorinox.

I have owned the SOG, the Leatherman, and the Gerber too.  The Leatherman felt the most solid.  The SOG had the best blades/tools.  The Gerber was the cheapest and gave me the deepest slice requiring stitches, but in all honesty that was preventable if the operator wasn't an idiot.

Leatherman PST II.  Unfortunately they are getting rarer and spendy on Ebay ($40ish IIRC), after a few years of being around $25.

Leatherman skeletool:

knife was super sharp so good for cutting paper and picking my cuticles.  Bad for general utility since it was too thin and had a flimsy lock.  Pliers weren't bad at all.  The screwdriver was good but eventually you'll lose one of the bits.  Absolutely loved the bottle opener/carabiner clip.  Felt solid overall.  Stolen from by checked baggage.  Would buy again.

Gerber crucial:

Bought after the skeletool.  Felt cheaper for sure.  Pliers sucked.  Knife wasn't bad.  Overall unimpressed.  It should have been $20 cheaper than the Leatherman but it was the same price.  Lost doing yardwork.  Will not buy a Gerber multitool again.

SOG powerduo:

Currently have.  Pliers are awesome, they are a step above all other multitool pliers I have ever used.  The knife is excellent as well, almost as good as a folder.  The tiny screwdriver built into the can opener is nice.  The tools have a little play when locked open (except for the knife).  My favorite so far, also the most expensive.   Only one problem: I didn't notice it didn't have a pocket clip until I opened it.  NOOOOOOOOOOO!  Carrying it is a pain in some outfits and it occasionally gets left behind as a result.  Oh yeah, the toothpick and tweezers are garbage.  I will definitely be exploring more options from SOG in the future.

Also have a basic victorinox swiss army knife.  It stays in the house bc the blade doesn't lock and it doesn't have pliers.  I use it to open wine.

My ideal multitool:

Good knife, good pliers w/ wirecutters, bottle and can openers, large and small screwdrivers, strap cutter, glass breaker, pocket clip.  I could live without a corkscrew but if they could fit one it would be nice.  Not too bulky, under $100.

Leathermans are probably the best, but they're not big fans of our gun rights.  SOG on the other hand is always spamming facebook with concealed carry pistols and ARs, and their stuff is decent so I vote SOG.

Leatherman Wingman. I was against carrying a multitool because I already carry too much shit on my belt. I don't like shit floating around in my pockets either. The Wingman is perfect because it has a pocket clip but is a full multitool.

Nephew in Afghanistan doing aviation electronics swears by the Leatherman Micra to get into tight spaces and get the job done. Has tried several different multi tools, and only gets the leatherman now.

Multi tools sort of loose their appeal for me when you take the pliers away. Everything you listed was scissor based. Why not go with a Swiss Army knife?

Or this.

Leatherman Squirt

Small, has pliers AND scissors.
