I'm thinking of making a move to another state within the next few years with my wife and not quite sure what would be the best ones to look into.  I haven't' really been to too many states and was wondering what you all would recommend.  I have never seen the mountains and I don't really mind the snow as long as there is sun throughout the year.  The states that I have seen are parts of Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, lived in Michigan (detroit area for most my life), and now live in Florida.  Really looking for a good place to raise a family since I have a baby coming this Sept.  I hate densely populated areas.  Anyone have some recommendations of paces to check out.

I have about 9 years management experience in retail and have been doing tech support for the past 4 years.  I don't have any certs but know how to sell myself to get the job.

If you don't mind being away from the coast, Arizona.

If you would miss the coast, maybe Maine or New Hampshire.  The entire west coast is either California
or the non stop rain of Oregon/Washington.  Eastern OR/WA may as well be AZ.

Well, Wyoming is the least populated state in the Union. The sunshine throughout the year thing may not happen up this way though. Also a great place to raise a family IMHO.

I see that you mentioned Ohio.  As long as it's not in NE Ohio, you'll probably like it.  I've lived in NE Ohio my entire life (in a suburb of Youngstown) and NE Ohio, is hands-down without a doubt one of the cloudiest parts of the country.  Just something to bear in mind.

As a Native Floridian I'm thinking Utah.

I was born a raised in Florida. I've been all across the USA. Utah catches my interests. Good moral code, good gun laws, good outdoor action. What more can you ask for?

Hows the Job market in Utah though?  the wife really wants mountains and i can't agree more with her.  I would love to have great woodlands and mountain trails for some Hiking and backpacking.

Ya, NE Ohio was a bit of a disappointment.  never saw southern Ohio though.  Isn't Ohio pretty flat though?

This morning the sun was peeking through the clouds and shining on the olympic mntns. This afternoon it bouncing off the snowcapped cascades range. The Puget Sound is muti-hued and full of boats. Washington don't suck. Some tech here too.

Job market isn't bad especially if you dig tech support.  I work for a large company out here that does its tech support in house.  They need some talent and they are currently expanding the org.  If you're interested, PM me and I'll be happy to answer any questions and even pass along your resume.

I'd go with Idaho,  Wyoming, or Montana.  Eastern WA is cool too,  but the state as a whole is just to liberal for me.  Big Sky FTMFW.

Look for a job in a state that has no income tax, that's close enough to the border with a state that has no sales tax...

No it is broken here. Gun bans, liberals, hippies, cloudy all the time, cold and super hot... Sucks to be here.

I don't want to call you a liar, but I was watching CSI a few days ago and I saw for myself that the gun stores are as busy as Wal*Mart on welfare check day. Also everybody has a class III range in their back yard, so don't tell me its broke

I loved Idaho when I lived there in the late 80's. If I ever leave Ms it will be for Idaho
