| Never used one, but all my shit from logitech has been good to go, except I had one mouse go bad and was able to replace it for free like 8 months later at Best Buy. I have 4 Logis btw. So, basically by a Logi and get from Best Buy and if you have a problem you should be able to replace it no problem. |

I bought my dad a Harmony for his birthday, he loves it. His eyesight isn't the best up close so i got the one with the LCD screen. Super easy to set up, and it works great for him. I set it up so all of his favorite channel use the picture icons, its really neat, and easy for him to use. Actually the URC MX series remotes can be had at fairly sane prices and are worth every penny. I have an MX3000 and a couple of MX850s. Very happy with them but I am looking at switching over to an RTI T2C. Have one of the Harmony touch screen remotes in my garage. The thing drives me nuts. |

| Harmony, but one that uses RF. The Harmony remotes need to keep track of what state they think the devices are in for everything to work properly. If the IR signal isn't picked up (pointed in the wrong direction, something in the way, whatever), they get out of sync and can be more of a pain than they are worth. However, the high end models have an RF receiver "station" with an IR transmitter so it goes Remote-(RF)->Station-(IR)->Device. The station doesn't move, so you obviously don't really need to worry about the IR signal being missed and RF is, of course, directionless, so it doesn't matter where you are pointing the remote. |

I wouldn't recommend a Logitech Harmony remote. If you get one you can only program it by logging onto their website and if they go down you can't program it. If they change the support it changes the features of your remote.
I have a harmony 880 and they changed the software and when I reprogramed my remote it stopped working right. It took them 6 months before they finally released a bug fix. Log into their forum at their website and read up. |
