With it being Christmas, I know some of you guys have been buying video games and doing some research. With my nephews getting more into video games (and having my butt handed to me at Madden this morning by an 8 year old) I thought it might be fun to have one at home.

It depends on what you like, as a lot of games are for both the 360 and PS3; there a few that aren't, like Halo for XBox and Gran Turismo for Playstation.
The Wii obviously has the Nintendo only staples such as Mario and The Legand of Zelda, but it is not really a next gen system, more like a PS2 graphic wise. I have a 360 and a Wii, and have no experience with the PS3. I bet it's similar enough to a 360 to not really notice a difference game wise. In the spirit of Arfcom, get both all three!

I have a 360, Wii, and PS3. The PS3 only gets used for BluRay movies and netflix streaming, in fact I don't even own any PS3 games anymore. The Wii rarely ever gets turned on even though we have a few pretty fun games for it. I really can't explain why we don't use it more, too simplistic maybe? The 360 is the only one I actually use for games, I really like the interface, game titles, and controller. For me if you are just playing popular shoot 'em up type games the 360 leaves nothing to be desired especially if you play online. But believe it or not, even with all those game systems I'm not really a big gamer, I only sit down to play a couple hours a month these days. ETA: I guess the game I play the most would be CIV5 on the PC but unfortunatley you lose the family interaction factor when you play PC because it's usually all single player. |

As an xbox owner I would say the PS3.
I like the way the console is operated, the dashboard or home screen is better than the xbox. Netflix is handled way better on ps3. Free online play. Bluray is just a bonus. If my current xbox dies on me I'm going to get a ps3 and never look back. I'm just too heavily invested in xbox to go get one "just to have". |

Better, more varied exclusives than just a bunch of generic shooters that would be better played on a PC, and online is free. Not only do you have to pay for the same experience over Xbox Live, but it's chock full of angry, racist frat brats and screaming teenagers. Just take them off mute and listen to them whenever you play online.

| I love the Xbox 360 titles like Halo and am a huge GOW fan. That being said I had to send my 360 back 3 times and on the fourth time it was out of warranty. Even though they sent me a new unit 1 year ago. So my money is on my PS3 for now. I may get an Elite once GOW 3 hits the market. But i wont be happy about it. |
