Well tomorrow's the big day....I'm going to get snipped, cut, disabled, close off my donation of little Scott's to the world...it's...it's...a vasectomy! I tried to get my wife to practice shaving me last night but I didn't want to go in with a band-aid on my nuts. Hey, let me know if any of you want pics...maybe be I could post a few???? | Good for you, I had it done a couple of months ago. Its no problem 10-15 minutes and you are done. Sit on a bag of frozen peas for a couple of hours after and you will be fine. I think its the best thing, i did not want my wife telling me she's pregnant in ten years. If it happens now I know it was probably one of you guys. |

No big deal. Aside from the initial anaesthetic you won't feel a thing. BTW, take their advice and stay off your feet for a couple days at least. That'll help the healing. They have found that they get more spontaneous re-attachments from folks who refuse to lay low after the surgery. My reasoning was simple, my wife goes through hell in pregnancy and neither of us wants her to go through that again. She loses a pile of weight that she can't necessarily afford to lose, she's sick pretty much 24x7 for 9 months plus and giving birth tears her up as well between the back labor and the blood loss (about a liter both times), it's not worth the risk. Since it is easier for me to get snipped than her, I volunteered. If she had had to get a cesarean we had already told the doctor we wanted a tubal while they were in there. I am happy to announce that there have been no negative side effects at all. No loss of sex drive, no perceptible loss in volume or viscocity, no loss in sensitivity and no hypersensitivity. Full healing can take a while and scar tissue can break loose under stress or impact and cause some swelling and bleeding weeks afterward, but that's no big deal. Having had this done takes a lot of stress out of things. We no longer need to worry about the "what ifs" and can just enjoy ourselves. |

I believe the doctor did say that you must immediately eat the peas afterwards as they are full of vitamins |
