Check out what my son caught yesterday...<sniff> I'm so proud...

Yup...large mouth bass.  Caught in Norton Massachusetts.  We threw him back.  But had to capture the moment on film.

Pretty cool, huh?  That's my boy!

Actually, the pic doesn't do it justice.  The girth on this thing was amazing.  Must have been a female.  I'd say it was at least 6, maybe upwards to 7 pounds.
The thing was huge.

If you saw the pond we took it out of, you'd understand.

And I don't eat fish unless it comes on a plate with chips in a restaurant.

'Fish and chips'?  What are you, British?

j/k
It looks like your son had a good time.  I didn't realize he was as old as he is.  For some reason, I thought he was much younger.  (Maybe 'cuz mom looks so young.)

Man, that's a helluva mud-puddle behind him. I'd hate to see the monster you could catch in the lake further back!!

Not to be a naysayer but I've caught quite a few big bass this past year since I've started fishing a local strip pond that looks like a piece of Florida, I recently weighed one that came in around 25 inches long and the girth was enormous and it was only 5lb 14oz. I'd say 3-4 would be a good estimate.

The first time I caught a nice bass out there at that pond I was thinking 8 plus because they're just so massive but that's not the case.

Tell your son to get rid of the swivels, buy some Rapalas if he doesn't already have any, and have fun. I love worm fishing too.
