I saw a head pop up from a hole below the mailbox and found a Black-capped Chickadee nest. This is a stock photo of an adult from Wiki: Here are my photos:

That is great! I am an amateur bird watcher and I love to see that you appreciate what you found. Try to protect them from cats. That looks to be easy access to them. Hopefully they will fledge and fly away unharmed. I took the pictures a couple of weeks ago and they've since flown away. It's one of the few birds around here in the winter and it's neat to have them around. I really like their song. |
