Never seen it, are all 4 seasons worth checking out? Each season is a different time period in British history, following the line of the Blackadder family. The video and audio quality of the first season is a bit off. If you don't like it, try skipping to season 2. Each season is self-contained, though there may be little throw back jokes now and then. |

Melchett: Now George, you remember when I came down to visit you when you were a nipper, for your sixth birthday? You used to have a lovely little rabbit, beautiful little thing, remember?
George: Yes sir. Flossy, sir. Melchett: Thats right, Flossy. Do you remember what happened to Flossy? George: You shot him. Melchett: Thats right. It was the kindest thing to do after it'd been run over by that car. George: By your car, sir. Melchett: Yes, by my car. But that too was an act of mercy when you remember that dog had been set on him. George: Your dog sir. Melchett: Yes, my dog, my dog. But the point is, George, that the state young Flossy was in after we'd scraped him off my front tire, will be very much the state young Blackadder will be in now. If not very nearly dead, then very actually dead. ... George: But surely you must let me at least try to save him Melchett: No George, it would be as pointless as trying to teach a woman the value of a good forward defensive stroke. It would take a superman to get him out of there, not the kind of weed who blubs just because someone gives him a slice of rabbit pie instead of birthday cake, hmm? |

Never seen it, are all 4 seasons worth checking out? YES!!! It may be better however to jump directly to series 2 and 4 and do the others later. At least a passing knowledge of British history may be helpful. Blackadder:Now, as I understand it, Napoleon is in North Africa. And Nelson is stationed in? Wellington: Alaska, Your Highness. In case Bony should try and trick us by coming via the North Pole. Blackadder: Perhaps a preferable stratagem, Your Grace, might be to harry him amid-ships as he leaves the Mediterranean.Trafalgar might be quite a good spot. |
| There's also a 30 minute 'movie' called Blackadder Back & Forth worth checking out. It might be available on Youtube. |

One of the greatest comedies ever made. See sigline. Honestly, I didn't think season one was that great, but it got better and better as it went on. I used to watch it on the local PBS station when I was growing up. Men Behaving Badly did the same. Harry Enfield was awful in that show. |

| I loved getting to watch Blackadder when it was aired locally. I got to see seasons 1, 2 and 3 but never got to see anything of season 4 or Back & Forth when it aired. I did get to see Blackadder's Christmas Carol and I think it had some of the best writing of the entire series. Plus seeing the characters reprised from previous seasons was pretty neat. |

http://www.ak47.net/media/viewFile.html?i=78366 I kept hoping he'd make some kinda Blackadder reference like Castle referencing Firefly. Like referencing a crazy patient and saying something like "I keep expecting him show up with a napkin on his head, two pencils in his nose, saying 'Wobble' for some reason." |

If you like Brit humour and can find it online (I never have been able to but my IT fu is weak) there is a hilarious 1996 BBC comedy drama film in 2 one-hour episodes called 'Over Here.' Set in WWII, it's about what happens when US bomber crews first come to England and explains a lot about Anglo/US relations. Well worth a watch if you can find it. All I found was this and a misleading youtube clip: |
