So unless Ridley goes all George Lucas and overrides the director a lot, I'm still giving the movie the benefit of the doubt... there will be more than enough time to shit all over it if it turns out to be bad. Comes down to the script and who has final creative control over it. Gonna bet Ridley has a lot of input there. I'd bet my farm this one goes all giddy/retard with toying with who is and who isn't a Replicant, I think he had a real boner about putting that twist into BR and will capitalize on it this time around. You can also bet that it will abandon the VO/narrator, which I still think was an important part of the mood of BR. |

Ridley Scott wrote the story treatment but not the script, the shooting script is supposedly written by Fancher (the guy who wrote the original movie's final script) and the guy Ridley has helping him with Alien Covenant. I'm sure Ridley has had a hand in the script and is probably toying with plot tropes along the lines you mention, but again I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt right now. He has a very good deck of people stacked up on the movie and I'm not quite willing to write it off just yet. Now, if you told me the schmuck who wrote Prometheus was on staff then I would be pulling at my collar. I also don't mind the missing narration, although it changes the tone of the movie significantly. With narration it is more neo noir, without it is pretty much a straight up drama with sci fi elements. And considering that the narration was added by the producers and both Ridley and Ford hated it, you can be sure it will NOT be in the new movie. Edit: One thing I hope DOESN'T happen is that Ridley goes all Force Awakens and cribs the Blade Runner extended universe for his plot. I was not all that fond of Edge of Human and it would be a bummer to see the new movie "borrow" its ideas. |

Can't remember what she wore at Comic Con but think it was a Tron theme. Never got her to do the matching costumes on Halloween either. She just tried to murder him. I don't feel bad for her in that scene. Looks like he does several movies. You picked the best one for Blade Runner. ArmyInfantryVet may want to take a look at his 5th Element and Big Trouble in Little China stuff for his man cave. I need to check on his thread again for updates.
