Southern Minnesota (Owatonna area) was just put under a blizzard warning. We've had several inches of snow so far and now the prediction is for sustained winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45mph. Time to finally break out the snowblower. Tomorrow |

It's been snowing since I woke up this morning. I'm in NW Wisconsin. I went snowshoeing tonight for a couple hours...really nice out! The ice is thick enough on LK Superior Bay so I went a little ways on it. There's an island I usually go out to every year, I'll probably hit it tomorrow evening sometime. |
y'all must live by chicago |

I'll probably have to wear a t-shirt and I just hate how it restricks my back-swing. Not to mention, jackets mess up my scope alignement. Wind was damn near 20mph into the face yesterday. Cost me at least 30 yards off the tee. Later, I was shivering so bad the target was just a blur. Had to be in the '60's at least. Oops. Nevermind. It's SO DAMN COLD HERE. Might as well stay where you are. |
Uhmm, if it snows a foot and the wind blows 50 mph, you best just stay inside. Driving is not an option. The "snow plower trucks" won't be out either. |

Update... Just spent a good hour or more outside in full snow gear. The clearance snowpants I got were worth three times what I paid for them! We got a solid foot, with drifts up to two feet, and the least we got was 4". DEFINITELY upgrading the snowblower this off-season! |
That was in 91' right? We got a lot of snow that weekend! |
|
Just got in from plowing, about 3 hours sitting on a tractor. I figure when you're dressed for it, enjoy it! A lot of people may remember the blizzard of '78. That was awesome! We lived in Ohio then, and it was pretty damn cool to see snowdrifts up to the roofs of ranch houses. The first night after it stopped, we found a house with nobody home, and took turns climbing the antenna and jumping off into a drift that was about 10' high. |
yup, missed it. I didn't move till 93' |

30" expected here by tomorrrow. Why is it every store sells out of snow shovels and snowblowers everytime a storm is forecast? What happened to everone's shovel they bought for the last storm? Do all those shovels disappear? Why don't the sotres just stock a shitload at the beginning of the season? Why do the sell out EVERY time? I mean really? WTF? |
Got 3 at once one snowy night, flattened all 3...a daughter got the last one two nights ago, it's still usable, just barely. ![]() Maybe that's where they go? Very short lifespans on my shovels...a snowblower would be out of the question.
