I'll let you borrow my 13y/o for a week. Let you get all the benefit of being a grandfather without the work. He could use a dose of the sea life, needs the variety as I am a boring father. Sorry to hear about your acquaintance that could never deal with his problems. |

Sorry to hear about your acquaintance that could never deal with his problems. Continue to be a boring father. He'll figure it out when he grows up. Over the years most of the guys that DID folloow the yellow brick road (high school> college>career) generally reflect on the decision they made. Most of them look at what they have and seem pretty satisfied. They come to realize that there are choices and they have to either live with their choice or change things. Most look at what they have and continue. Ain't nothing wrong with being a 'boring' father. The problem comes when you can't stand your life as it is and are either too lazy or too stupid to change things. FWIW, not a day goes by without me wondering if I made the right choice. I am often asking myself this. I figure that questioning myself is a healthy thing. I figure you have to add everything up and divide by whatever and go from there. You can't have it all. Have I made mistakes? Damned tootin'. |
