My official start-of-the-season is Memorial Day, but I'll have a few shake-down outings to prepare.

Can't get sunburnt the first day out, you know?

Yes!   My boat is in pieces right now.  I took the whole floor and transom out because the wood was rotted.  Going to put new stringers and floor in.  Bunch of other stuff too.   Hopefully it's done by summer.

I'm part of a crew on a J29 racer every Wednesday...can't wait for sailing season!

and fishing on our john boat, and cruising/fishing on our lake boat.

The two best days of boat ownership.

1. The day you buy the boat.

2. The day you sell the boat.

Damn, beat me to it...

Although I'm familiar with the pains...I still wouldn't mind owning one once I get my finances right.

New seats and uphultry are on the way to the brown truck of happyness as we speak and the trailer is currenlty being media blasted and repainted...

Here is the guy doing my seats.

Seats should look very close to this when done. Trailer will be black

Skip is one hell of a guy first off but i paid 1600 delivered. We live 3000 miles apart so you can imagine shipping hit me pretty hard for something that large..

I got two buckets and the bench as well as snap on covers (new fiberglass seats). PM me with your email info and when they arrive i can send you some detailed pics.

I did find some guys locally who would do the same job for around 1300 but the seats would have been wood. the reason i am replacing what i have is the wood started delaminating.. I really wanted a more solid seat for my fat ass.

Memorial Day. Sheesh. If I was in MO I would have it in the water by end of April. Nice boat! Did she come with it?

Its a shame to waste a perfectly good boat to drown some guns in the accident youre going to have though.

I've got a Coleman RAM-X boat.  Almost been sunk twice.  Got it for free since the PO abandoned it.  No title, so I can't take it on public water.  Spent $20 to make it seaworthy again.  I've had a lot of fun in that boat, even before it was mine.  That reminds me, I need to do an extended sea trial since I patched it up and now that I've got a truck to haul it with.  Pics would be forthcoming, but you assholes would just laugh too much.

It will be in the water before then, but that is the big time party start of summer weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks.   Plus, who wants to wakeboard or go swimming when the water is still cold, not me.   She would need to have a lot less clothes on to be allowed on the boat

Break Out Another Thousand  = boat

Been there, done that.

ETA: Make sure you learn how to dock it too, especially in windy conditions.

I could zip right up to any dock and slide it right in a small space between 2 other boats when I was really good at it.

Took one of mine out last weekendon our lake, crappie aren't spawning just yet. But can't wait for a few more months to head offshore for some grouper and sea bass.

Second happiest day of your life is when you buy a boat. Happiest day is when you sell it.

Yea, we picked it up last March (we found it in Florida as a repo, made a offer and the bank took it - much to our surprise!)

Went out today for 5 hours, just to run the engines and burn out the old gas after laying up since Christmas.   No problems.  Trolled for stripers a little bit, no bites though.

My boat is very similar to  WAMJR's  and for the guys moaning about cost, aside from gas my boat bill in the past year has totaled $363.  (New VHF radio and antenna, 12 spark plugs)   I put right at 229 hours on the boat since June 2009.

Got to know what you are doing.

Picked up new batteries for the trolling motor today. I will be headed to Amistad,Choke Canyon, and Falcon in the next few weeks in search of the 10 pound bass.

Motor was stolen off the sailboat over the winter so we have to get a new motor, but I'm hoping to actually get that going and then finally learn to sail.

This.

I've got a boat full of snow.

Need to pull the blind off, replace a trailer tire (blew under the weight of snow this winter - yeah, I need a cover), and fix the throttle cable before even  thinking about breaking ice getting wet.

Nice Boat!

My parents use to have a 32" Carver Aft Cabin.  I think being older, I would appreciate it more now.  But as a teenager, I just wasn't into cleaning teak every spring.
