Anyone have any experience with the Bowflex home gym?
Looks like it would be a good workout but the "Power Rods" look a little hokey.

No.  Look into Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells and bench.

I have an old model about 9 yrs old.The rods dont seem to be wearing out!I bought it to keep my knees strong from abuse in Flooring. The great thing about the machine is you dont need a spotter!Still use dumbells for flys. The machine will make you sore in places you were not stressing with free weights.Great machine for guys my age or older because ther is less chance of injury.Im almost 50.

I see them on craigslist all the time. Apparently they are a good place to hang your clothes.

I have one and started to use it when I first started getting into working out.  Oddly enough I don't use it anymore and am some what of a gym rat now, using free weights and machines mostly.  I think the usefullness of it will depends on your goals.  If you just want to get lean and want a good workout and you combine using it with cardio and a good diet you will benefit.  I lost weight using it.   I also put on muscle.  But about a year into using the bowflex I got over my strange fear of working out in a public gym and have since been a member of several different gyms working out almost every day (depending on my split and program I'm going by at the time).

If you want to drive hear I'll sell you mine, it just collects dust now.

My sister has had one for five years. Between that and the bowflex tread climber, she stays in pretty good shape.
like everything else you have to make a commitment to use it to get any benefit.

Perfect Pushup and a decent set of dumbells is what I use. I use my brother's treadmill when I need to run in the winter.
