CUTE!!!  be ready to have a full blown person in a dog's body living with you...  and careful letting her in your bed - she may just push you out one night!  (ask me how I know. )

on a more "stick in the mud" note: make sure you check her regularly for tumors.  we lost ours to one, and Boxers are predispositioned to them.

I currently have two of the brats at the house. Get lots of play toys! Check her ears often too for infections. By the ear cleaning solution from the vet and some cotton make up removal pads.  I give mine a cookie afterward to make it not such a traumatic experience.

My husband and I have had several of these wonderful, loving "children" over the years.

Lost our sweet boy Sam at the age of 7 (by only a couple of weeks), in April of 2008 to Lymphoma.  My husband posted a memorial clip of him on YouTube.    It is terrible how they seem to be plagued with some form of cancer.  We still have Sams "wife", Katie.  She just turned 6, and so far seems to be in great health.  You didn't say if "Dixie" is your first Boxer or not, if she is you will not be disappointed in any way, shape, or form!  They are truely amazing!  Oh, and by the way, our previous female, before we got Katie, was also named Dixie.  She lived to be just over 10, and then passed of congestive heart failure.  Dixie's "husband" was "Max", and lived to be just over 10 as well.  Max passed from Stomach cancer.  We kept one of the puppies from Max & Dixie's last litter together, Bubba.  He was a real sweetie too.  He had the misfortune of crossing paths with a rattle snake on our property one day.......he was 7 at the time, but thanks to a wonder vet, he lived to be about 9.

When Sam passed last year, Katie went in to a state of depression.  We debated about getting another Boxer, but decided to go with a French Bulldog (our first), and named him Cooper.  He was just what Katie needed to pull her out of that depression (me too)  The moment we brought him home and Katie laid eyes on him, it was as if someone turned her "life" switch back on.  Katie was Katie again, and we both needed that.  You wanna hear something that still makes me scratch my head???  Cooper has the exact same disposition and personality as Sam the boxer had.  I don't believe in reincarnation of any kind, but it's just plain weird that Cooper acts exactly like Sam!

Well, I could talk dog with ya forever (as you can see) Gotta run though.........give us updates about that purdy little gal of yours ~

Thanks for hte replies. Dixie is turning into one of hte family very fast. She does however not play well with other dogs. She reaches a point fast that she gets aggressive. Any tips for dealing with that in puppies?

We will be taking her to puppy kindergarten classes for some interaction

We have/had 2 boxers here.

Zeus:

great dogs and seem to remain the "class clown" for life.  Very loving, loyal, and friendly (as long as someone isn't trying to hurt the family!)

Sadly the tumors part is true.  We lost our first boxer, Zeus on Dec 24th, 2006 to Lymphoma.  They become so much a part of your family that it is hard to see them go.

We (actually I) had to wait before I could get another boxer.  Zeus was a flashy fawn and so we decided to get a reverse brindle so that they didn't look quite the same.  Most of the same traits between the two.  Friendly, loving, playfull etc!

Definately need to do obedience training so they know who is in charge.
