I want a new format.

Why should McGregor have to give up so much to compete?

No kicking, no yada yada giving all the advantage to the boxer. That is BS.

I want to see a something different.

Maybe 4 rounds of boxing, 4 rounds of MMA and 2 rounds that is decided by fan votes on the internet.

I mean hell it is entertainment. Entertain me. If you can make FU money from one fight, you can do it the way we want. I want fucking open scoring too. Fuck keeping the score a secret till the end. That reeks of corruption.

Connor is an awesome athlete, and fighter. Mayweather is a douche with excellent boxing skills and timing. I like Mcgregor, but I think Mayweather will win this fight by points.

McGregor will probably make 75 million off this fight.
He comes across as the kind of fighter who wants a challenge and just likes to fight.
He didn't give up anything.
He loses nothing if he loses and gains a lot if he wins.

Agreed.

I'd like to see him knock Mayweather out though...that would be awesome.

I'm sorry but if you think the outcome of this fight hasn't already been decided then you don't know Mayweather.

He is giving Conner the biggest payday of his life and he is going to make sure he stays undefeated. Plus I bet Mayweather will be sick or have a training "injury" that makes the betting lines favor McGregor.

He's only a "draw" now because people wanna see an arrogant Mick knock around an illiterate woman-beater.

or have each fighter use their primary fighting style like UFC did at the beginning (when it was actually fun to watch)

Right.  Anyone that actually thinks McGregor is going to "knock around" Floyd in a boxing ring has the IQ of a houseplant.

Mayweather would have to have an arm amputated to be an underdog in this fight.
I can't even imagine the amount of money that would be bet on him as an underdog. Not gonna happen.

McGregor would destroy Mayweather in an MMA fight.
That's why it's a boxing match.

The most fun I've had sparring was when I used to spar boxing with a bunch of pro and amateur MMA fighters on Saturday mornings.

It was basically "dirty boxing." Clinch, knees, collar ties, etc. all OK. If one of us took the other down, we'd reset to standing as soon as the scramble ended.

No kicks, no submissions, no extended ground fights. Just good ol' boxing where anything went.

It was a hell of a lot of fun. I'd love to watch that version of boxing, without the bullshit Queensbury rules.

Fair enough, I don't doubt that.  There are some people out there that think he actually has a shot in this fight though.

He will very likely beat him but I don't think he'll destroy him.
For him to do that he'll have to land a bunch of shots and take a bunch. McGregor has a chin and is used to getting hit hard by smaller gloves.
I don't think Mayweather wants to get in a slugfest. That would play into McGregors favor.
It's most likely going to be a "meh, what did you expect?" fight with an outside chance at a "holy shit, can you believe that" ending.
Punchers chance.

I saw in the other thread the opening line was 9-1. That is going to get off the chart or the casinos are going to take a bath. I bet so much money gets put on Mayweather that is goes to 25-1 or even higher.

Holy shit I looked, the opposite is happening.

So much money is getting put on McGregor that the casinos are going to take a bath if McGregor wins and the line moved down to 4/1. How is that even possible? People are crazy. They expect SuperBowl type betting action on this fight.

In your format, Floyd would out point for 4 rounds in boxing, and the 5th round switch to MMA would be Floyd's grave
6/15/2017 10:24:35 PM EDT

I was thinking if Conor can win (unlikely) then maybe he can talk so much shit that Floyd would have no choice but to fight Conor in the UFC. Its a one in a million chance...

Unless its fixed.

I saw it opened at Mayweather-1100 and is now down to -650
I can see why.
Betting $1100 to win $100 is foolish.
The best bet on this fight is probably Mayweather by decision.
