So Brady is against HR 822 the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act. Makes me support Issa more. Brady should be more honest in the amendments offered.
Amendment No. 8—Rep. Jackson Lee (D-TX): This amendment would require a person intending to carry or possess a concealed handgun in a state to inform that state’s law enforcement of their intentions at least 24 hours prior. Amendment No. 9—Rep. Cicilline (D-RI): This amendment would limit the bill from taking effect in a state until the State Attorney General, head of the State police, and the Secretary of State have jointly certified that the other state’s carry laws are substantially similar to its own licensing or permitting requirements. |

Quoted:
The brady bunch is a joke... have they even received any contributions this year? Exactly. t has been a while since I looked, but I think I spend more on lunch that they have for an operating budget. They are nothing. They just occasionally get quoted in newspapers. They have ZERO political clout. |

Quoted:
They used to have lots of clout when Clinton was around That is for damned sure. When they were Handgun Control, you couldn't turn on the TV without hearing their name. When Sarah Brady was the leader they were actually damned effective. The problem is for them, time has shown gun control doesn't work and everyone knows it and more importantly, there is no popular support for gun control, so they have no political clout when they go to Congress. |

They only had clout when Dems were in control of the whole enchilada. |

If this law passes with that attached I will be finding a way to send an automatic email every 24 hours to every state. Actually at least 24 hours prior to visiting would be only one time. |

Both amendments failed. Link to text hr822 PDF |
| That can't be right! I thought the Brady's didn't want to ban firearms, they just wanted to reduce gun violence. How can an organization whose goal is to reduce gun violence not be concerned about a U.S. government progam arming Mexican drug cartels with guns? Next thing you'll know, you'll be telling me that their solution to a government controlled program that violated numerous federal laws in order to arm Mexican drug cartels is to give more power to that same government and place greater restrictions on law-abiding gun owners who didn't have anything to do with the sales. |
