You are in a room. You have 1 question to ask and  need to know the way to heaven. There are 2 doors. A door to heaven and a door to hell. There are 2 people in the room. One will tell you the right door to heaven (if you ask where is heaven?) and one will always tell lie. What do you ask?

NOW THAT IT IS ANSWERED,  POST A TEASER OF YOUR OWN!

Don't you ask one what the other would say?

which door would the other person tell me to open.

...then you open the other door and get to heaven.

It's a variation on a classic logic puzzle. It does not matter which person you ask - they will both give the same answer to that question.

I'd just walk over and touch the door handle.

Whichever was hot, well that is hell...which is where I'd end up anyhow.

The truthful one's answer would only be helpful if the truthful one knows what the liar would say.  The truthful one might truthfully say "I don't know that person over there and I have no idea what that person would say."

Similarly, the one who lies all the time might not know the answer or might simply give a random incorrect answer.  For example, he might answer "Starfish."  Why?  Because the truthful one would give the correct answer and "Starfish" isn't the correct answer and, therefore, it is a lie to say that the other person would answer "Starfish" (and it has the advantage of being unhelpful, which a devil would like).

All in all, it's a stupid riddle.

Missed part of the question.

One always lies
One always tells the truth

Ask either of them which door the other would tell you to take.
Then take the other one.

POST ONE OF YOUR OWN!

...or solve this one:

You've got someone working for you for seven days and a gold bar to pay them. The gold bar is segmented into seven connected pieces. You must give them a piece of gold at the end of every day. If you are only allowed to make two breaks in the gold bar, how do you pay your worker?

1 piece
2 pieces
4 pieces

if you can exchange pieces
Day 1-1 piece
Day 2 Give them the 2 pieces take back the 1 piece

Pay them at the end of the week, and fuck the labor law.

At my office you could give 'em the whole bar late tuesday evening because they would likely have gotten their 40 hours in by then.  Sadly the week doesn't end there.

Makes sense to me.

Break the bar into three pieces - A one piece, a two-piece, and a four-piece.

Pay them the one piece at the end of day 1.

Take back the one piece on day 2, and give them the two-piece.

Day three, give them the one piece.

Day four, take back the one piece and two-piece, and give them the four piece.

Day five, give them the one piece.

Day six, take back the one piece, and give them the two piece.

Day seven, give them the one piece again.

Full pay, all seven days, only two breaks in the gold brick.

I would do an MS paint but am no good at it.

Day 1 give them 1 piece of gold.
Day 2 take back the 1 piece and give them the 2 piece.
Day 3 give them back the 1 piece (they have 3 now)
Day 4 take back all that you have given them and give them the 4 piece
Day 5 give them the 1 piece  (they have 5)
Day 6 take back the 1 piece and give them the 2 piece (they have 6)
Day 7 give them what ever you have left.

Sorry if that was confusing.  I know what I meant,  why dont you?

Bruce wanted to run the Shore-to-Shore Marathon next month, a 26-mile race from one side of the island where he lives to the other. He decided to work up to 26 miles by running five days a week for the next five weeks. Each day he’d run one mile longer than he did the day before, except for the first day of each week, when he’d run the same number of miles he ran on the last day of the previous week. He wanted his last two practice runs to be 26 and 27 miles long.

How many miles would he have to run on his first practice run?

now get to working on this one  boys.

Assuming there are four full weeks to practice, and the first practice day is a Monday, he would have to run 11 miles on the first practice run.

...Oops, it says 5 weeks to train. 7 miles the 1st day. Of course, he'd have to be careful the last day of training not to run of the end of the island.

..........Week 1.......Week 2......Week 3......Week 4......Week 5
Monday.........7...........11...........15..........19..........23
Tuesday........8...........12...........16..........20..........24
Wednesday......9...........13...........17..........21..........25
Thursday......10...........14...........18..........22..........26
Friday........11...........15...........19..........23..........27

This training regimen is NOT a good idea as it'll kill the poor fool who tries it.
