| What are they made of?? |

Quoted: Quoted: Metal shavings and asbestos, mostly. Ceramic sometimes. Asbestos has been long gone. Most are soft metal oxides (zinc, manganese, iron) with aluminosilicate whiskers (ceramic) and brass/bronze/copper filings. Every time Keith answers something, I put it into google search to see if he's just a google-fu expert. So far I've found no evidence of it. I think he's using a scrambler of some sort. Picks out multiple hits and compiles them. Makes his google-fu untraceable. |
| Actually its mostly organic material. Different types of foam. Some metal shavings. Kinda like ground up pencil erasers. Its pressed in a mold then placed into a heated 15 ton press along with the metal backing plate (disc pads). Sorry for lack of info. alot of the ingredients are propritary. I worked for a brake pad manufacturer for a few months. |
