How many of you have coughed up blood when fighting it? How much?

It happens, coughing pops capillaries.  It's not a big deal in itself.  Not sure how to quantify how much is too much, but if there's as much blood as mucus, I'd probably call a doc.

Yes, if it was more than a little coloring, I would get looked at again.

See a doctor.

I just heard today one of the local Snap-On Tool reps just died of a heart attack.  He had pneumonia and started coughing up blood - went to the hospital and got sent home after being told nothing was wrong..  42 years old, died very unexpectedly.

I just got over a nasty case, and toward the end I coughed up a little in the mornings. Not really red, just pink. Took me damn near a month to get over that shit, too.

Yep, finally quit after a month and a half.  Not much, mostly just enough to taste it.

Same here. And yeah, just about a month for me, too

OP, are you coughing up more blood than mucus or the reverse? You should really see someone if it's more than just a little bit.

I saw a doc last week, they said it was normal and gave me a course of antibiotics for the infection. I'm almost done with the course but the amount of blood has increased in the last few days...

Eat lots of oranges.  Suck it up and eat the spongy white part. It really does help strengthen blood vessels.

If there's blood in your mucus you should see a doctor just in case. That could be nothing or it could be really bad news.

I used to get allergy related bronchitis every year (until I started using a Neti pot to clear that shit out before it got bad) and never once have I ever coughed up blood. Weird green shit, yes. But never blood.
