Lately I have been planning a bug out bag with lots of item.. still
deciding on which bag. I cam across this Blackhawk X3 Hydrastorm. Its
huge for the small house I plan to put in it!
Anyone have an opinion on the bag? Its $30.00 less then anywhere else???

No way, my daughter saw that & NOW has to have that as her bug out bag.. probably the only kid with a hannah pack at the fema camp! Told her it would be embarresing..

she then said,  daddy you can put a Hannah Montana magnet on the back of your backpack & we will match!

So long as it meets your needs do it.

I like the Camelbak Mules for the kids and have 2  black hawk patrol packs. 1 for mags, extra ammo, med kit, etc. and another for food items.

Each pack carries up to 3-liters of hot or cold liquid in a contained bladder if needed.

These also work good with gatorade, ice  and vodka for football games. Good buzz and hydration ; )

I took my BOB to English 1102 for my final presentation (did survival in FL). One liberal hippy questioned my need for having a para-military style bag with all of this stuff in it.

I told her that I want to be prepared in case a hurricane or other disaster comes so I can have everything I need to survive for a week in one bag in case if I have to bug out.

She said I needed to be put on the watch list
... I was speechless and wanted to tell her to FOAD.

it costs a fair amount, but i'm an eberlestock guy.  does everything i need it to, is solid as a rock, doesn't scream "tactical", and allows you to carry a full-length rifle discreetly.  the last  two are incredibly important in most emergency scenarios.

you might want to check the 20+ page tacked BOB thread in the survival forum.  you'll get more and better preparedness-oriented info there.

water, shelter, food.

If you suck, you should pack otherthings like reflective mirrors and or wistles.

Also, nature does not create triangles.

Build 3 fires in a triangle visable from the sky.

Should have replied with "People like you, who don't think ahead and wait for the government to help them, sometimes end up getting robbed, beaten or molested while they take shelter in the Superdome."

The OP was looking for real input, and I was being a wise guy. My apology to the OP.

But since your daughter liked it...

Looks like a good pack..I'd like to see the inside to see where I would store my E&E/grab and go kit..IF I had to drop the big pack I want something I know will hold an accessible kit to grab and go.

Now I have to get her the Hannah pack tomorrow.

The Vulture seems like a nice pack, maybe for the car since its smaller?

Have so many items spread out, should not have a problem filling the pack.
