Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: No one has a sauna? Most of the ARF demographic will not be able to fix in a Sauna. Or spell "fit" correctly either, it seems. The "x" and the "t" are netx to each other on my keyboard... ![]() what kind of keyboard are you using? A USB one. |

Americans seem to pronounce it Saw-nah, but the correct Finnish pronuncation is Sow-nah.
Can't post pics, but I've had 3 in places I've lived. I much prefer a wood heated one over electric. They take longer to get going, but you can pour alot more water on the rocks without worrying about getting electrocuted. |

http://www.sauna-talk.com/sauna-plans.html Wood fired stove where you throw water on the rocks is the way to go if at all possible. Free standing is desirable, as well, if possible. The above link is a place to start, but there is tons of info out there. Start studying. |

Make sure you build it big enough.
It must have a soft wood lining the interior, cedar is the first choice and the only one IMO. Wood fired is best with a water jacket to heat water for bathing and shaving. Install a cold water line to cool the hot water for bathing and keep the water jacket tank full. A sauna is for relaxing, but it is also for bathing. You will never get a closer shave than when you shave in a sauna. I can't imagine most decks would be big enough for a proper sauna. Consider a freestanding sauna instead. If you are talking one of those closet sized contraptions with an electric burner, then you are not talking about a sauna. |
