I read somewhere(Damn,I'm getting old) that McQueen built up the Mustang himself as well as drove it for the stunts.He built it so well,that when it was supposed to slide around corners,it wouldn't.Many retakes.You can see many skid marks around some of the corners from all the retakes.McQueen is the MAN. Chuck Norris wishes he was Steve McQueen!

I know McQueen did most, if not all of his stunts. He was also a race car driver. He truly was, all that is MAN. I'm not even going into his service of his country here. |

McQueen didn't build the Mustang and he only did about 50% of the driving. I've done a lot of reading about the chase when I was younger. The main modifications were stiffer suspension for the Mustang and skinnier tires for the Charger. Otherwise they were basically stock. Nonetheless, McQueen is the man. |

The hard plastic race seats many of us have used was patented by McQueen But with out the skinnies in the Dodge it would have caught the Ford Patent Info |
