i have the chance to pick one up at a decent price,1500.00from a buddy new and unfired, this is the enhanced model (folding stock) i checked it's serial number it was not in the recall range.it is the standard 1/9 non chromelined bbl.
3 questions as i have really not kept up with this at all. 1. are there different barrels and bolts available yet different lengths and calibers? 2. have there been any notable problems with the gun itself? 3. are the remington and bushmaster variants parts interchangable? thanks in advance for any info. |

You don't want that shit. But if your friend really wants to dispose of that piece of garbage, I suppose I'll do him the favor of paying that much for it...

No. Some aftermarket barrels are available. A lot of folks are SBRing and running 10.5 barrels on them. 2. Yes and no. Depends on the gun to be honest. Aside from the recall, some have issues cycling 5.56mm NATO pressure stuff. Thats easily fixed with the newer style Gas plug. 3. Yes. But there aren't any Remington guns in the wild, so its a moot point. |

In that case, what color is it? If he's really having difficulties and wanting to sell for that, and you don't want to go for it, drop me an IM, cause I very well might. |

Fuck that shit. The barrel is lined with melonite. It provides extreme long life. There ARE barrel coatings which are just as durable if not moreso than chrome you know. Stellite, as used on heavy machine guns, is one example. As for your questions... 1. AFAIK the "swap options" are not out yet. 2. Only problem I have read about is that the charging handle peens the receiver a little bit when operated, which has resulted in some reports of worn metal in that area (similar to how the charging handle on an AR sometimes causes a little wear at the point where it engages the upper). I don't think this is a big deal. 3. I don't know. I am very pleased with my ACR overall. |
