back in 2000 I bought my XM15 E2S. 14 1/2 with 2 in. permanently attached arrester.
In the last couple years I've read things here that Bushmaster quality is crappy. My rifle has worked flawlessly all these years. Was quality better back when I bought mine? Was I lucky to get a "good one"? Did something happen to the company that caused its quality to drop? Educate me. |

Bushmaster isnt Bushmaster anymore. Bushmaster is Remington and Windham Weaponry is Bushmaster Hopefully I fully confused you with that nugget Got it.. I am with the OP.. I have 3 Bushwackers all made before the end of 2004. never had a problem. yeah the gas port wasnt staked, but I can forgive that since they havent ever become loose at all. if that is the only gripe, the haters can shovel it. |

1:9 twist exactly what is wrong with that? The E-Ninja's can't accurately shoot their 77gr. bullets at dirt. 1:7 may be fantastic for 77gr OTM bullets, but for 40 gr varmint, or 55, 62 gr Milsurp 1:9 is great. Its hardly a knock worth of the pukey face.. |

I've got a circa 1998 Bushmaster that seems to work well enough. Probably only 3k rounds through it though, so it's barely even broken in.
Back when I joined ARFCOM, Bushmaster was the go-to brand for decent quality rifles. EDIT: The gas key was staked from the factory on my rifle. |

I am not the bushmaster hater some are here For what I have seen selling all brands for 16 years is at each price point rifles are pretty comparable that said Bushmaster in particular really put out some shit in the run up to Y2K/California ban at the time it made sense though especially with California cutoff get the product out before the deadline and warranty it later |

People who've spent a lot more on other brands love to brand them a "hobby gun".
They will site weekend long courses where most of the AR's that had issues were Bushmasters. Other than having to have the sights reindexed because they shot much too far to the left out of the box, I've never had an issue. I have a friend with a recent Colt that has the bolt wearing on the underside badly, so no company is perfect. |

The first AR I ever bought was in 2004 14.5 and pinned comp. Here are the two problems that I have with it.
1. No M4 Feed ramps. 2. The post-ban configuration I was forced to purchased due to being behind enemy lines. I have had one Failure to Feed issue. and it had more to do with cleanliness, not enough lube , and possibly riding the bolt closed.
Hasn't happened in a very long time. Have about 900 rounds through it. |
