If I run three days in a row during week 3, do I move on to week 4 in the same calendar week?
Or should I keep running the week 3 program?

any pain or stiffness?

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to only do 3 runs in a week, so you take 2 days of rest and start the next week.

I never understood why people would do the C25K for that exact reason because it wants you to rest excessively IMO

If you moderate distance and speed I don't see how you ever need to double up on rest days

ETA: At least regularly double on rest days.  Maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks I could see it if you're starting fresh, but at the distances and walking/running intervals of the first like 4 weeks of C25K it seems quite excessive

For about the first half. Then i loosen up.
3 days in a calendar week doesn't seem like enough,
but I wasn't sure if I should move to the next week or just keep the same run times for this week.

Take a few days of rest and then continue with the program. BTW, why did you decide to do all 3 runs in a row?

you are overestimating the condition of C25K subjects

I get busy and I just had extra time the last few days. I actually ran the last 4 days. It took me two weeks to find time to run the week 2 program. I finished it and started week 3 the next day. I'll probably have time to run tomorrow. I may try week 4 and if it's too hard I'll just repeat the week 3 run.

If you aren't experiencing issues, joint soreness and the like, you may be in better shape than typical crowd the C25K program is designed toward.  I don't fit the mold either, but if your not used to running you are also gaining cardio strength/endurance and not just muscle strength/endurance.  The ablility to breath sufficiently is also a factor.  Basically, it's different for everyone.

I would probably repeat the last runs of week three if you felt like running again or take 2 days off and start the next week.  You don't want to over do it and pick up too many miles too soon, you can cause yourself problems if your body isn't "adjusted."

Don't try to hurry the program pushing may cause you to burn out.  It is designed to ease you into running.

My wife and I now run 5k every other day at least 3 times a week.  Trying to talk her into 10k but it really does soak up time.

Honestly finding time for more is hard with all of our other activities.

BTW, I would also ask the fitness forum. Also, where did you start from (i.e. couch potato, playing rec sports)?

I don't play any sports, but I'm not a couch potato. I do work outdoors and walk a lot at work sometimes.
I've just always said I was going to run a 5k and haven't made time. I'll be 32 this summer so I'd like to get in better shape.

I would still suggest that you take a day or two off between the strings of runs. But, if you feel good, then go ahead and continue with the program at an accelerated pace, just be mindful of how fast you are running during the run/jog portion of C25k. While running, you should be able to hold a conversation and if you are winded or sprinting during the run/jog portion, then that is an interval workout which will come later.

Good luck and don't forget to sign up for a 5k race, it give you a target and there should be a race every weekend.
