I've got one I wear as a work watch, since it gets bumped around a lot. Not really sure why you put "Seiko" in the thread title though....

IIRC, mine was only about $65, but it is a Casio G Shock Atomic Solar.

Could be an MR-G or whatever, the nicer metal ones. I can't say I like the fancier G-Shocks, my plain GW5600J (Atomic Solar G-Shock in the original style case) is one of my favorite watches.

I was curious and googled Casio myself because I didn't realize that Casio sold a watch that expensive.Your link shows watches at 300 marked down to what ever they where, but other sites have the same watches without the high crossed out prices.Meaning I don't think they ever sold for 300 dollars but is just a selling gimmick.

I got one in 2005 and it lasted through the 1 year I spent in Afghanistan. It is a great watch.

Got a  MTG900DA-8V at Wally-World for $55 they were going to re-model the jewelry area and clearance sale'd all their watches.

Been great so far.  My son is pissed because I didn't get the universal remote model instead.  I think he is going to buy one just so he can change channels on people without them knowing.

I got an atomic solar from Target earlier this year.  I love it.  I set it out in the sunlight now for 2-3 hours on a weekend on my back deck to recharge the battery.  Not that much sunlight indoors during the winter months.

My battery indicator went from H to Medium.  How long will the battery last in M mode until it drops to Low?

I just got the 1300T (Titanium case & band) for Christmas, only problem is I cant adjust the band with my watch band adjuster and have to take it to a jeweler tomorrow.

Bought one about a year and a half ago.. still ticking.. er... keeping time! Just remember that it resets each night and to keep it clear of metal objects (set it on a window sill) so that it has a chance to resynch with the Atomic Clock.

I got a Casio GW-500A atomic for $80.

I suspect yours has a LOT more features.

Nice watch, isn't it? I put it on the window sill every night before bed and it resyncs to the atomic clock while I sleep.

I've owned my Casio atomic watch for about three years.

Keep in mind, at some point, you will have to have the battery changed.

Oh, yeah, they do have batteries. They store the solar charge.

It took me a lot of looking to find someone local who could/would put in a new one.
The watch repair guy who did it normally works on high end Rolexes, Piagets, etc.
Charged me twenty dollars and said after mine, he was raising his rate.

Other than that surprise expense, it has been an excellent timekeeper.

I've had this one for about 2 years now and love it.

I have a bunch of higher end watches that never get worn.

I'd rather wear the G Shock

I have the same watch.  I think I gave $65 for it at the BX a couple of years ago.  Damned fine watch, especially the band.  It uses screws instead of pins to hold the band on.

Do the bands last?  I had one with the plastic band and it cracked after a couple of years.

Remember the G-shock commercials from back in the '80's with the hockey player skating up to and swatting a watch?

Well, we had a rink in the backyard at the time, and I had a G-shock.  Disassembled that thing over a 20ft radius.  Never did find all the parts.
