I dont think you need one for this, but I'm not entirely sure so I thought I'd ask. Do you need  CCW to cary a long gun (rifle or shotgun) concealed in a vehicle? Like under a blanket in the back or something to that effect? Not concealed on my person.

I would think if anything there would be a state regulation either permitting or disallowing this. Perhaps other Colorado members may have more input. I never had any problems doing this in Texas. Haven't been stopped/questioned/etc here in Louisiana yet.

YMMV

depends on the state. here in IA to transport weapons they must be either stripped and unlaoded or cased and unladed. not sure how that law deals with CCW though

In Missouri anyone over 21 can carry handguns concealed in vehicles without a permit. I presume loaded long guns would be the same. Our CCW is for outside of vehicles or off our property.

I don't know anything about Co laws.

I know loaded in a vehicle is a no no here, but I wasnt planning on keeping it loaded. Just a couple of mags close by that I slap in if I needed too. The thing is I would just rather keep it out of sight, I didnt know if that counted as cocealed cary or not. I'll go post this in the CO forum.

Thanks Jimmy_Hoffa, thats a great site. Posted from there:

A permit is not required to carry a concealed firearm in one’s own home or business, for protection while traveling in a private vehicle, or while hunting.

Thats in the summary of state laws section. I would say thats a go, wouldnt you guys?

ETA: No replies, oh well its pretty late. I'm going to go for it, everything  I see says its perfectly legal.

Sometime when you're out with no firearms, stop and ask a local cop about it just to be sure.
