| Do you carry extra mags? I usually only carry my Kel-Tec P-11, when I carry the XD45 sometimes I srtrap on the x-tra mags. |

Depends. Since moving here, I OC my S&W m637 38 spl, as it's light, comfortable, and doesn't draw ANY attention when OC'ing. Given the environment here, I don't find carrying a reload necessary honestly. Also, no matter how much i practice, i have just never gotten all that fast at using the speed loader, so i don't think it would help much anyways.
when i used to carry my 1911 90% of the time, i did carry a spare mag, mainly because my holster had a spot for it. obviously, YMMV depending on where you live, as I'm in small town WY, so what is good here, may not be good elsewhere. Certainly better to have a reload on hand, than need one and not have it, and its not like 1 mag adds much weight, so... |

Quoted: depends on where i am going. the bigger the place, more likely im gonna carry an extra mag in the pockets This. There's no one right answer....I wouldn't go to Somalia with a 5-shot .38 and no reloads, like I wouldn't carry 10 mags in a chest rig when going to a farm in Illinois. |

Sometimes I carry an extra mag for my Kahr. On the rare times I'm carrying my G19 or XD45compact I almost always carry one. I figure if I'm gonna carry a bigger gun, I might as well do it right.
Usually though, if I'm going to carry something extra it's going to be a two-shot Kimber O.C. thingy. Tex78 |

In the warmer months, when I just carry my pocket gun (S&W 442), I carry two extra Safariland speedloaders.
All other times, I just carry an extra gun - the aforementioned 442. (Current primary carry is a P7 in a CrossBreed Supertuck) One of the big reasons to carry an extra mag is not the round count, but rather that magazines are normally the weak link for autos. Since I carry a whole extra gun when I'm packing an auto, I don't feel the need to carry extra mags. |
