Due to unfortunate events I have not been able complete my online part of the CHL. I have obatained the certificate of training form by taking the physical class.

So does the certificate have an expiration ?

I hate to go against the grain, but I believe that the CHL 100 is good for two years for an initial application or six months for a renewal.

This is correct. The original CHL100 is valid for two years.

In addition to the information required by the Act, an applicant must submit all the following items, whether submitted electronically, through the online application process, or otherwise:

 (1) Evidence of proficiency. The applicant must submit evidence of proficiency, as defined by §6.11 of this title (relating to Proficiency Requirements) reflecting the successful completion of a handgun proficiency course approved by the department and taught by a certified handgun instructor. Evidence of proficiency submitted by an original applicant will not be accepted by the department if it is more than two years old. Evidence of proficiency submitted by a renewal applicant will not be accepted by the department if it is more than six months old.
