I just received my M1Garand from the CMP. It is a early '44 rifle. It has white letters on the stock. Are these rack numbers? It is an original stock as far as I can tell.

They would be rack numbers. Your stock may or may not be original to the rifle. It could have even been replaced by CMP, no way or knowing
