COD4 for PC > General Discussion

If I get COD4 for my PC, does that mean that I can only play with people who play on PC as well? How might my experience be different if playing on an XBOX or PS3? Are there any monthly fees with PC?

Not sure about the xbox or ps3 aspect ,but on STEAM you pay just for the game your currently playing. Im currently playing Red Orchestra and only paid a one time purchase price and basically unlimited multiplayer play.

PC only plays against other PC's. AFAIK. I just got done playing all day off and on trying to get rank. My S/N is Guppy Smacker. Holler at me. Maybe we can get a ARFCOM Clan...

I played it on my BILs XBOX360 last week. I think he said he pays like $10 / month for XBOX LIVE which allows him to play against any XBOX players of any games online, not just a single game.

Here's another question for COD4 on PC.

I use 2 monitors side by side. Can the game be played across both monitors or only on one?

you are correct, but with XBOX you play only against XBOX

with PC only PC.

This only assumes this buggy POS title even works on your machine.... I dont know many who have gotten it to work for PC.

it worked on my pc, and its 3.5 years old.

you just need to do some tweaking on your pc

Works fine and dandy on my PC. I just made 3 star General in multi player.

AMD 64 bit 3700+ processor
GeForce 6800 OC 256mb AGP 8x
1 gig RAM

PC players would dominate Xbox players so they are not intermingled in online play. Too much of an advantage with the mouse and keyboard setup.

You need to upgrade. My son's hot year-old gaming computer runs it great; my 5 year-old upgraded computer doesn't have the processor speed to even run the first scenario.

I generally go by the name Harmless Fuzzy Bunny. Which, considering the level of my l33t skilz, is pretty accurate.

It's a great game, both single and multi player iterations. It both runs and looks great on my 3 year old PC. There is a demo available if you want to try it before you buy.

i use a keyboard and mouse adapter for my xbox360 when i play....they don't stand a chance.

It's kind of a shitty game. The action is muddy. graphics are shitty for how "new" it is, maps are filled with exploits, game has already been hacked 50 ways from sunday and running into these assclowns is a fairly regular thing.

*BIG BREATH*

Server screen is a fucking half ass attempt at shit, they dont host their own patches and send you off to lame fucking hosted sites like Fileplanet that want you to "sign up!" to download it, most people I know have had to reboot after the last patch to make it work (sloppy programming)....

You know what? That should be enough. Go buy Battlefield 2, or keep playing CSS or GR or whatever else you are playing. :)

Also PC players don't have to pay an extra fee besides internet service to play the game. On XBox you have to pay for the stupid Live service and your internet.

In the process of building a new rig to play it.
My 4 year old P4 3.0 based was fine at low settings with a 19" CRT. Since I went to a 22" LCD, my old one doesn't hack it anymore.
Looking at a Q6600 with a GT8800 512 and 2 Gigs
