| I have been having problems with my cable interent connection. I called for service and they gave me a general time. I was at home for that time period and no one came. I got a phone call that said someone had stopped by but I wasnt home. Now that was a pile of shit. I called they and they made me rescedule and it happened again. I wish I could tell them to F off but they are the only cable company in town. Arent monopolies great? All I can do bitch. They have a maze of automated answers that you have to wade through before you can even speak to someone. |

[b]YES, They Do![/b] I have thier cable modem servise also and when I had a problem and called for support I was told a service tech would have to come out to my home. I called on August 22 and was told they could have someone out the 20th. I said the 20th was 2 days ago and the operator said, "No, I mean Sept 20th". My problem was that the modem would not connect between 6:14am-5:15pm everyday. It would work at night but at 6:14am it would just stop working. Since I work at night this created a little problem. Thier problem is that they treat thier people like shit so the people quit and since the turnover rate is so high they don't properly train the people. Which in turn aggravates the employees so they quit... See the problem? |

I don't give a flying damn about high speed internet at home, just the Dish for TV, they do carry porn. |

Their cable modem service has been continually getting worse for the two years I've had it. Slower, more bottlenecks and outages. They also put in a POS ethernet card (which I should replace) which won't connect 1/5 times it boots. And after disconnecting my cable accidently and eventually scheduling an appointment to reconnect it, they insisted on replacing my motorola modem (which I never had problems with) with a "better" docsis modem, (faster - my ass!) a com21 POS that will not boot correctly 1/4 times. And don't bother calling them unless you want to talk to somebody with a thick indian accent. I guess they've outsourced their support. Oh yeah, and after cancelling their automatic billing by my credit card (supposedly for the customers benefit!!) they now send me a bill, but only every other month. Have no idea why that is but I get a lot of late charges and phone calls from them. Even after three months overdue once they didn't cut me off. Probably too incompetent to figure it out! Doc, you might want to see if you can get ameritech DSL. I can't. They were supposed to be coming out with a cable modem service of their own, but I've heard that for like two years now. Can't trust any of these bozos. Of course @home is bankrupt now :) |

The local cable company here just fired something like 20 of their repair people. These folks were holdovers from the previous company that had the contract. Apparently they would telephone customers that they were supposed to visit that day. If no one answered, they would claim they made the stop and no one was home. This let them goof off a good part of the day. |
