Good job and keep it up California. Thank you to our brethren that voted behind enemy lines.

That certainly is progress and it’s good to see. It’s not enough yet but it’s a trend in the right direction
|
|
|
Now we just need 1.7 million more to turn red.

let the Florida-zation of California begin
if anyone thinks it can't happen -- remember -- Desantis beat Andrew Gillum in 2018 by ONLY 30K votes. he was resoundingly re-elected in 2022 winning by over 1.5 MILLION votes. |

'moving to the right' is a poorly worded statement

Bend gave them a California vibe when they visited, a bunch of them moved there and flipped that county blue. |

Like MANY of the other states, we have the large metro areas that HOLD blue hard. But, we may be able to surround the blue cites some day at best.

Gavin Newsom calls special session to protect liberal policies from Trump presidency SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump, on Thursday called for lawmakers to convene a special session later this year to safeguard the state's progressive policies on climate change, reproductive rights and immigration ahead of another Trump presidency. The move - a day after the former president resoundingly defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race - effectively reignited California's resistance campaign against conservative policies that state Democratic leaders started during the first Trump administration. "The freedoms we hold dear in California are under attack - and we won't sit idle," Newsom, who reportedly has ambitions on the national stage, said in a statement. "California has faced this challenge before, and we know how to respond. We are prepared to fight in the courts, and we will do everything necessary to ensure Californians have the support and resources they need to thrive." Newsom and lawmakers say they're ready to "Trump-proof" California's state laws. His announcement Thursday called on the Legislature to give the attorney general's office more funding to fight federal challenges when they meet in December. |

CA needs to stop the top two winners from the primaries for the general. Many of the times it is 2 dems. GOP rarely gets to the general even though they won their primary.
Top two and ranked choice are leftist tools. |

After Trump finishes his 2nd term, he should run for governor of California.

One thing that was pointed out by some analysts was how much some solid blue states were less blue this time. Harris still won them, but the margin was noticeably tighter.

Remote work also enabled red voters who used to live in Deschutes Co, OR to flee to Idaho, Utah or another red state. |

Hopefully this is making Newsom sweat. It's showing people are not on board with their progressive bullshit. Personally I think a few of those counties are actually red, but are shown blue for "reasons".

I'm up in that little corner up there. This area is typically republican. I was reading yesterday about the lead the democrats took in California over the last 3 elections. These numbers are from memory so might be slightly wrong. Hilary had a 30% lead, Biden had a 27% lead, and Kamala had a 17% lead. The trend is moving the right direction for sure. People are becoming increasingly sick of the shit situation we're in. I don't know what it will take in the Bay area for things to turn, it's already so awful down there. |

It doesn't matter who those counties with tens of thousands of folks for when there are millions voting against them.
I checked this morning and only 60% of the ballots have been counted. |
