The Beretta 92 Series of pistols are probably my favorite semi-auto handgun of all time. They are so good in so many ways. Every time I take one to the range I find myself asking...."why the fuck did I ever feel the need to buy a damn Glock?". And no, I'm still not going to get rid of my Glock pistols. They serve a useful purpose. But damn, the Beretta is so smooth, refined and nice. It is just in a different league than most of the competition.

@KELBEAST, how do you like those grips?
View Quote

@Miami_JBT I definitely prefer them over stock, and while they might not have the squishy comfort of Hogues, it’s different type of non-slip. They aren’t going anywhere in my hand. They don’t add that much width to the grip... but I still want an extended mag release. The most obvious part of the grip is the rail, which was really my only option because I wasnt going to weld on the frame or drill and tap. This is all really making me wish I had a 9mm ammo fort so I could go do some shooting

I still don't know what I'd give for a Beretta M12S - even non-select fire

PS My M70 is one of my most favorite Berettas

@JarheadPatriot, those guns are long gun. The current PT92s are nothing like the guns from the 80s and early 90s that Taurus made. The Beretta tooling and Beretta trained employees are long gun.

Taurus 92 series copy cat pistols are made on Beretta equipment that was purchased (with the factory) when Beretta left  brazil.

from Wiki:
"In 1980, after Italian arms manufacturer Beretta had completed its contracts to produce firearms for Brazil's military, Taurus purchased Beretta's So Paulo manufacturing plant along with the tooling, technical drawings, and work force necessary to produce several different pistol designs."

It's my understanding the pt92 is pretty good because of this.

Taurus also makes Rossi tagged revolvers.

But wouldn't they pass the knowledge down and keep the machines running?

I'm a fan of the 92G, it ranks right up there with the Sig 226. Two best DA autos out there.

A stage I designed way back when I was a USPSA match director:

This was sometime summer of 2019.  The targets were some hostage type target made by MGM, so there is a frame welded to the back that keeps them from “DING!” ‘ing like they should.

Bill Drill....surrender start ...gun holstered ....7 yards... all 6 shots should land in the A zone ...all under 2.00 seconds.

I have. It's not my favorite platform though, so I don't regularly. If my CZs didn't exist, I would definitely defer to a 92 compact though, as it's still my second favorite platform.
