Broken pinky toe fractured two months ago.
X-rays reveal it is still not healed.
Podiatrist is baffled.  Suggested electro-stimulation but sounds like quackery to me!

Help me arfdocs... you're my only hope!

Do not listen to this person as they clearly have no idea what they are talking about.
You never use a scissor to amputate a toe. Anyone with half a brain knows you use a
paper cutter. Yeah you may cut into some other toes, but it is by far a more efficient way
to amputate. Trust me as I took biology in college.

Lol, it's your little toe, who gives a shit? It will heal when it heals.  Have you had the foot immobilized for the entire time or is he having you tape the 4th and 5th toes together to splint the 5th?  Unless the fracture is badly displaced it's not a big deal.  If he's suggesting a bone stim after 8 weeks he must have a smoking hot rep pushing her product

Just annoying as fuck because I'm not running or doing leg stuff in the gym stuff like squats or dead lifts.
The toes are taped which sucks because the tape is starting to rub the skin raw on the inside of my tootsies.
I think biking is making it worse but it's about as low impact as I can think of to get some cardio.

Is the 5th toe still painful?  If it's not hurting, stop taping the 2 together.  If you or the doctor are terribly concerned about the fracture healing, I would suggest full immobilization instead of just buddy splinting the thing.  I would expect the fracture to still be visible on xray after 2 months if the toes are just taped together.  The fracture fragments will still move whenever you bear weight, the splinting just acts to help stabilize the fracture so it does not displace.

Normally I would say 10 mm or .45, but since it's the little toe you just need a 380 or 9 mm... By the way not a doc, just want to see the video of you popping that toes cherry with a G 19 ......

Not really painful.  Last time it hurt was after bike riding last week.  Maybe I think I felt something strain during one 'pedal' and it hurt a bit.  Or the previous week I was doing tricep pulldowns at the gym and it felt it 'strain' as my muscles were tensing up.  Doc buddy taped it this morning.

ETA:  I know I should stop moving... but I'm paranoid about heart disease.   I've got bad genetics in that area.

If there wasn't a translucent line running across the entire phalanx (toe bone) then for all intents and purposes the fracture is healed.  If it looked "whiter" than the rest of the bone that means that it's newly healed.  The small piece of bone missing is not a big deal, if there was a small chip there initially, it will be resorbed and the bone will remodel in time.  The pain you felt when straining is likely due to putting increased pressure on the fracture site.  I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you began stepping up the intensity of your work outs a couple of weeks ago?

You'd be correct on the workouts.  Also on baby asprin once a day.  I read that doesn't help.
