One of my tenants has reported that the fridge isn't working correctly.

The fridge part is at 60 degrees and the freezer is straining to keep it at 45.

What should I check for first?

You have been here long enough to know that I NEED VITALS!!!

Make, type (side by side, freezer on top, freezer on bottom)

Now you get 50 demerits!!!

Ok since BOTH sides are down, FIRST check your condenser coils... are they plugged with yuckies. is the fan in the freezer running? if you put your hand on the compressor, is it a. Room Temperature, b. warm or c. Hot enough to cook an egg on it?

Are you proficient enough with a multimeter to get some readings of continuity?

If you turn the knobs to "OFF" do you hear the motors turn off?

Oh and if we get this fixed, the way to repay me is to drive to Ohio... find Chokey and await further instructions...

Chokey has MADE THE LIST...

...yet AGAIN!!!

Um, I don't remember.  I'll be going over there tomorrow morning to take a look at it.

I thought you were supposed to be psychic and stuff about appliances.  To tell you the truth, I was disappointed that you didn't call me and tell me about the problem before my tenant noticed it.

That unpluged the frige and is sitting on the condenser just waiting for you to reach your hand in there to plug it back in.
