Dog had blood test, ultrasound, x-rays etc. Results indicate cancer has spread into adominal cavity. Dr. said condition is guarded and at most 3 months left to live. Chemo starts monday.

First I lose my job and now I am going to lose my dog.  To top it all off now my piece of shit car is starting to act up again. What in the hell have I done to deserve all of this bullshit?

I am so depressed I don't know if I am even going to the gun show this weekend.

Don't let life get you down too much.

Go to the gun show and forget about everything else, it may seem hard but everything bad goes away in time.

I was once unemployed for about 18 months, times were hard.

I survived by doing odd jobs, etc...

If your dog starts chemo them there must be at least some chance of hope.

I know we tend to poke fun, in jest mind you, at your tribulations but you entertain us and inform us. One of the "Ar15.com family".

I wish you well,
our hopes/prayers are with you.

P.S. - When things are better, we'll get back to ribbin' ya again! [:D]

Sorry to hear that.

Not to be cold or anything but... why start such an old dog on chemo? That's hell for even a young healthy animal.

Do the compassionate thing - for your dog's sake.

I hope new and better things come your way soon.

I lost my job 3 weeks a go.  I'm considering euthanising my 16 year old dog, the dog I've had since I was 11 years old.  My truck is a 1989 model.

I have plans tomorrow. The itinerary is get together with friends and shoot in the morning, drink on the beach in the afternoon and look at/hit on  chicks, in the evening go to the bar and look at/hit on chicks.

Sorry to hear this about your pal.

Hang in there - we'll all be thinking of you, and understand if you can't post a lot.

It's not just you these things happen to, even though it may seem so sometimes.

Good luck - wish you well in getting through these tough times.

I know what you're going through and you have my sympathies.

I really don't want to be typing this, and at the time, I don't want to share why, but if you're interested, I know of some alternative treatments for cancer that are supposed to be effective.
If you want the info, IM me.

Sorry to hear about your friend having cancer! I haven't had a steady job since Oct 2001,have worked but Its not good as I can't pay Soc Sec ect.   If it weren't for that shit I would just work off the cuff all the time.

I have worked long enough and have enough points, just not old enough to draw yet.

Hey you have definatly lost your job,but not yet your (friend) dog go with it enjoy him while he is here.    Do you think if Nostradomis had told anyone of the people in the World Trade Buildings of the future they would have lived any differently?   Nostradomis did predict the Trade buildings in 1500 but he said that the city and all people would be lost, but in 1500 3,000 people would be a whole city!

Anyway the doctors don't know everthing and your dog doesn't speak english, and if man had the will to survive like an animal then we all would live to be old farts.

Immbro how old is your dog?

Spend time with your dog, tell him to watch the fort and go to the gun show.

My mother is 77 and falls down when she goes out to feed the birds, cut her arm the other day.  Pisses me off,but she tells me she don't want to go out in a bed.   So I help her every way I can,but still shes a person with rights and a voice.  She says she is going to live twenty more years, I say go for It.

Bad analogy but the same for your dog ,love it now ,let it know how much love is here now.

Be sad later after he's (or shes)  gone.

Thats the way your dog would want it!

Bob   Go to the gun show dude!  [8D]

Imbro,

Have hope.  That tough old son of a bitch could still beat it.  Believe it...   In the meantime, cook him some steaks every chance you get & treat him well.  If these are in fact his last days let him fight it & give him love.  A good dog deserves nothing less...

Sorry about the Dog, I know how you feel.
Please go back and reread my post when you first let us know about your dog and his cancer.
I have been there more than once.
I would rewrite it but I would end up crying again [>(]

Wisdom is knowledge gained from the mistakes of others. Please feel free to learn from my mistakes.

Battery checks are free at a lot of part stores some will even check for a drain on the system

Good luck

PS. some one suggested to feed your little buddy steak to make him happy. Please dont change his diet Too much it will make him feel worse. Treats are cool but in moderation

I was thinking the very same thing.  The problem is that the solution is much, much easier than the follow-through.  It's hard to put down someone who's been a loyal companion for so long.  We can be very selfish in denying our friends their peace, only because we love them so.

I know all too well Imbroglio's situation.  I hope he realizes that he'll be a better friend to his dog if he alieviates his pain rather than put him through 3 more months of agony.

Good luck my friend.  Do the right thing.

Sorry dude about your dog.

If he is suffering that much I really think you should "do the right thing" and put him to sleep.

Imbroglio, again, I am sorry for your tough times.  All you can do is persevere.  Don't let the bastards wear you down--figuratively speaking.  Certainly, we are here for you.  Best wishes, my friend.  [:)]

Sorry, Imbroglio, that you're facing such an ordeal with your best friend. My heart goes out to you!

My beagle, Scooter, is 13 years old and I know that where you are going, I will be headed there also, in the not-too-distant future.

Just have as much fun with your friend while you can, give it all the attention you can, and make certain that it never suffers too much.

Old timers like me have been through these trials, no matter the situation and how many times you've experienced it in the past, it's isn't any easier. It does temper you & make you stronger. The one thing that makes the most difference is when you realize that the bad things that are happening to you are not a burden, instead they are a test or a challange for you to overcome, to prove yourself & make yourself stronger. Think like a soldier determined to live inspite of the odds. You will make it & be better for it.

Goat, as to another job you'll be unfortunate enough to get one so never fear !!

I lost my big boy Chow, Lee Roy, after 14.5 years a couple of years ago. L.R. had an inoperable tumor.  Only good thing out of this was I had a fine, caring vet who came to the house................  Lee Roy went on his way with me beside him and in his favorite spot in the kitchen.

Being Chinese, Lee Roy was a practicing Buddhist so he's probably alright in his after life.  (Got to admit though.....he did have a problem suppressing worldly desires.)

I've three or four former wives that I missed less.  Broke my heart.

I demand a lock on this thread immediatly. It's obvious that Imbroglio has used the word "deppresed" in such a manner as to make light of those of us who really are deppresed. LOCK IT NOW! (do it for the mentally impaired).

Sorry to hear about that.
Sooner or later you'll have to do the right thing with the dog.
I know how it feels, we put our 17. yr old lab down last year. My 18 yr old son( grew up with the dog) couldn't even stand to see him suffer any more.
