What he said.  You can also request the forms from the ATF at:  http://www.atf.gov/dcof/index.htm

Then start saving your money.  There are so many interesting firearms available to you.  You won't know when to stop buying them.  Also send a copy to Brownells and Midway, you get discounts from them.

once you see the discounts you get at brownells alone, you'll be ready to jump on it....

here's an example, the first price is the retail price, the second is the dealer price. This is an Ed Brown 1911 safety.

087-245-892 Blue Ambi Tactical Safety   $54.95  $41.21

The Sistema colt has to be one of the best deals out there.

I LOVE having the C&R license - also because I'm incredibly cheap.  I've gotten about 15 guns on mine, which is probably at least a savings of $300-$500 in transfer fees alone.

?!
Class III delivered to your front door? (the reising)
Please tell me it IS! [:)]

Edit: where do you shop for C&R's, BTW? The Reising?

It is indeed. UPS dropped it off 2 days before Christmas. It was indeed a Merry Christmas for the Lumpster [:D]

Edited to add: I found the guy who had this gun by looking on the various gun boards. I think I found him on GunsAmerica.com. I contacted him about another gun he had listed for sale but he had already sold it. We talked for a bit and he offered me this one.

I have a couple short video clips of it in action here http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288194751

That's awesome! Now I have to work on getting my butt out of NYS [:)]
BTW, what's the minimum age for a C&R? 18 or 21?

Oh, and where'd you order that Reising from?

now that's got me puzzled. How the heck does that work with NFA stuff? I mean, you still have to go through an in state class 3 dealer? Right? I tohught the only reason for C&R NFA stuff was for states that only allow C&R NFA stuff....

I think the minimum age is 21 but I could be wrong.

I purchased my gun from Police Products Corp out of New Jersey. Greg (owner) was awesome to work with. I highly recommend them. In fact, when I am ready to buy my next one I will be calling them first to see if he might have what I am looking for.

NFA items that are C&R qualified can be transferred directly to holders of a C&R FFL. That means you can avoid 1 transfer tax and save yourself $200.

ATF cashed my check a couple of weeks back.  Just waiting for my C&R to show up, then it's off to the races!

Yes. You still need to jump through all the other associated NFA hoops. Form 4, CLEO sigature, fingerprints, photos, and a $200 tax stamp. Unfortunately, we can only have the C&R machine guns in Michigan so thats why I got the license. I have to admit, it was pretty damn cool having UPS deliver a machine gun to my front door.

For all you people who want to now go get a C&R license to have NFA C&R's delivered to your door....    You will pay a premium for C&R MG's.  They are much more than a non C&R weapon.  Why?  Because some states only allow C&R NFA weapons.

Back on the C&R License.  I just renewed my license.  Like other have said,  best 30 dollars spent!

Here's an exchange between me and an FFL at the Orlando gun show.
Me: How much is this M-48? (Freakin IMMACULATE M-48)
Him: $179
Me: Will you accept my C&R and save me the call in fee?
Him:You have a C&R? Your cost is $130
Me:Whats that with tax?
Him: Thats out the door.
Me: Heres the money and a copy of my license.
Him: Heres the gun and a copy of mine. Thanks! See ya next show!

Yeah......what he said.

I would have started with a Mac but I am stuck with the stupid C&R only rule [V]

Next up will probably be a S&W 76 although a M2 carbine would be nice as well.

Still waiting for mine...

Of course, I forgot the Certification of Citizenship (sent it in a day behind the license, they never got that copy and sent me a letter, so I sent them another... We'll see how long they take)...
