Was there someone here who could run a free carfax? I thought I saw that thread a while back and need a car fax now.

Just a word of advice to take a Carfax with a grain of salt.

The vehicle I recently purchased had a Carfax indicating "no accidents".  Picking a vehicle up in the snow, at night, is NOT a good idea.  As I spent time with the vehicle, I noticed that the orange peel in the paint wasn't consistent on the driver's side panels.  The mirror was gray plastic instead of painted like the passenger side.  Then I found masking tape tucked behind some trim and weatherstripping.

In short, it's apparent this vehicle had some kind of accident that took out a side view mirror and required repainting several panels.

Well it's not omnicient. If you don't report it to the insurance or the DMV how would carfax know about it? I'm mainly worried about mileage and lemon/flood/salvage.
