| Do any of you guys carry why you are jogging? What do you carry and how do you carry it? |
|
While this thing looks stupid, the placement is probably the best for jogging, over the sternum. I have tried back bands, belly bands, etc, and they all bounce. Now if they combined a smaller holster area for compact guns, and made it look like a hi viz jogging harness, it would be better. Funny to thing a reflective, neon green harness would be concealment, but I think it would work.

Hey, look everyone! I have a pistol on my chest! |

Jogging I sbad for your joints just walk. What happens if you need to get somewhere quickly? I suppose you think weightlifting is bad for your joints too. Again, what happens when you need to be powerful when you have been doing toe touches and jumping jacks for "conditioning"? I wear a belt under my shorts with the same G19 and IWB holster I carry every day. It took a couple years to for a callous, but I'm gtg now. |
Somebody here dreams about jogging & being a tactical jogger. ... Nobody is going to wear that in an urban environment. It would be OK for trail jogging the woods, but I think you just outted yourself as a neckbeard basement dweller. |

I used to recommend Belly Bands, but if you're running on uneven trails or sprinting, they are not as secure as I would like. If you carry anything larger than a G19 sized pistol it's gonna bounce pretty good. The Hill People Kit Bag has completely replaced my Belly Band for those applications, at least for me. As as added plus, it will also carry your wallet, cellphone, spare mag, etc...
As some other's have mentioned, you may draw some stares from people who are familiar concealed carry if you are jogging or biking in an urban area. I'm assuming most people will have no idea what it is and will look at you like you're some douche wearing a fanny pack. I do that sort of thing in the woods or in rural areas where no one gives a shit so I don't have that problem. It's rare for me to be in a city and I certainly wouldn't be doing any outdoor activities there. |
| Before I gave up the dreadful act of Yogging, I would carry a S&W 442 in a Smart Carry holster, slightly offset to the right. The tension of my shorts would help keep it tight against my hip and prevent any slapping of the giggleberries. Also tried it with a S&W shield with similar results. |

I live on a few thousand acres of private property that I like to run around on, for 2 and 4 legged threats I like to carry at all times. Not everyone lives in the city. |

Have put a few hundred miles with it on in all conditions. Suggest stainless gun. Position near hip for least bounce. Most responses I've seen to posts like this recommend a gun way too heavy and stinky belly bands or abrasive, sagging, bouncy holsters. Most of which are good for jogging from the front porch to the car and not much else. |

It took awhile to get used to running with an G19, but so long as I keep my belt tight and underwear between the pistol and my body it works out fine. |

Hey, look everyone! I have a pistol on my chest! I have a Serpa holster ziptied to my bike frame. . Most people dont even notice it.

I've never been able to come up with a way to do this with any kind of success. I either get "bouncing issues", or "sweat issues". It's just not very practical at all. I did once try carrying in the small pocket of a camelback strapped to my back, but continuously worried about it falling out and not knowing it. And frankly, it would be too hard to get to in a pinch.
Am interested to see others' stories. |
