Any of you ever see the Cat Genie? https://www.catgenie.com/

I had been seeing the ads and had been thinking about getting one.  Well last week I broke down and ordered one.  I hate cleaning my cats litter box and also don't like listening to him bitch about it not being clean.  After a pretty painless hookup and it taking a couple of days for him to get used to it, I no longer have to mess with a litter box.  Now I just have to change out a cartridge every now and then.  It also does wonder entertaining my cat.  I swear he know, that if he uses it, it will start moving.
I figure it will pain for itself in a bit over a year, but not having to clean anymore is worth the price.  I highly recommend it to all the cat owners.

My mother has three cats, a CatGenie and was living in a one bedroom apartment. I never ever smelled the litter box and  believe me, I can smell cat from a hundred feet. She seemed happy with it.

Tried it, the motor wasn't powerful enough to push through the fine grain clumping litter, regardless of the size of the mess or brand of clumping litter used.

This.

And the little trough has to be emptied everyday anyway or it jams up.

Instructions said to use their special granules not clumping litter.

I was only a one cat household but I solved the litter box chore issue by placing it right next to my toilet in the bathroom.
Basically, all the piss and shit in one place that gets cleaned regularly anyway.
I'd sit on the crapper and sift the litter box.
Just reached over and dropped it in a covered trashcan in the corner within reach.

The cat would come in in the morning and we'd do our business together.
They always bother you on the toilet anyway.
Worked for him, worked for me.
Only have to wash your hands once.

This is what I ended up doing as well, works great.

Yep, this one says to not use litter.  I've had it now for almost a week, and it works great.  No more messing with litter and my cat now has something else to watch.  He now uses it, then know how long it takes to start cleaning.  He runs back to watch as it cleans.
Overall so for I am happy.

Looks like a Rube Goldberg plot to scare your cat into never using the litterpan again...

I thought the catgenie flushes everything and washes the granules automatically?

Are you guys referring to the littermaid?

The CatGenie has NEVER been for use with clumping litter.  That's a LitterMaid (or equivalent).  The CatGenie uses plastic pellets that are washable.  When cleaning time comes, it scoops out the solids (the liquids automatically filter down through the pellets and into a basin underneath), then it adds water and cleaner, washes the pellets, grinds up the poop and flushes everything down a drain.

glad I'm not the only one.  Sucks when the cat comes in though and drops a duce that makes your own smell like a bunch of roses.

This, instructions clearly state, "Do not use regular little, only the granules."
