Anyone own one of these?  I've looked at Ft. Knox, Liberty Safe, Browning, Sentry, AMSEC and now Champion and it seems like the best bang for my buck.  They make the safes for Cabelas, so same thing.  Good, bad, ugly?  I'm looking at the trophy line.

I had a V50... I think thats what it was. Massive dog, lot o room. Put together real well. Yah, maybe "a few guys with some pipe" could get it out the house but it would have taken them a long time to do it... Not to mention the front stoop.

I have an American Security now. Real nice safe. I picked it up because as far as construction goes (like the hinges) it was the closest thing I have seen to the safes we use for gold and gemstones at the shop.

I have, it's a Liberty Centurion, only has bolts on one side, and the door frame isn't reinforced.  The guys at Ft. Knox and champion safe (both are built here), said that a door attack won't work (in any reasonable amount of time, as always, NO safe is completely break in proof) on a safe with bolts on all 4 sides, and with a reasonable amount of reinforcement on the seal.  Liberty safe had never seen it (sure...).

I have a Champion. Regular S+G mechanical lock. I have never had a bit of trouble with it. Good value. I'd buy another in a minute.

I have a Champion Victory series.  Very nice safe, dial lock.

Took a look at the site and they have renamed the Victory, now Trophy .

I think they are great values.  I bought the big Champion Challenger model.  But as big as that baby is, it isn't big enough.

My advice is to buy as big as you can.  You will fill it up.

ETA:  They didn't have the Trophy series when I bought mine.... Crown>Triumph>Victory>Challenger.  I didn't care about a glossy paint job.

I'll be getting textured, I don't care about gloss either.  And the mechanical lock, I hate the electric ones, they seem to crap out too frequently.

I really like the textured paint on my Champion.  I have the mechanical lock, too.

Are you going to get the big one?

I have a Champion and am very satisfied with it.  One of the best around for the money.

Go S&G for the lock...

Look at Sturdy Safe Brand. No frills and better built then all the regular safes like Browning, Ft Knox, Liberty ect. Theyuse much thicker steel and ceramic wool for fire proofing which is far superior to Fire board(dry wall).

They are not pretty but don't cost an arm and a leg eaither.....just built to work.

www.sturdysafe.com.

Here is a picture of the vault door they built for me. I did a ton of research when I built my vault and decided these guys made the best door:

Yep.  Cheapest model Liberty Safe they could find.  I'm not sure who made the video, but it seems to be a safe manufacturer trying to hock their own brand of safes.

I've got a Champion Trophy with mech S&G lock.  For the price I paid, it's great.  Bolted to the concrete slab, it's not an easy target for tipping over.

I harbor no illusion that it's as tough as a bank vault, but it should keep casual thieves and local tweekers at bay.  If someone gets the guns, well, that's why I have an extra rider on the home insurance.

I went shopping recently, The dealer I spoke to had probably 100 safes in stock, not one of them was electronic.  He is a pretty sharp guy.

And...  I'm buying a Champion.

Yup, mechanical only for me.  Don't trust the electric ones.

Looks like I'm getting a Champion.  Thanks everyone for your input.
