Anyone have any success with this medicine? I'm a nicotine smoking junkie and I'm going to give this stuff a try.

I was coming to say the same thing.  I used Chantix three times.  The first time I made it a week without a cigarette, the second I made it a month, the third I made it just under three weeks.  It caused me to have ultra realistic dreams that I would sometimes confuse with reality.  It caused a flattening in my mood that made me just sort of blah all the time.

I haven't had a single one since I got my ecig, been over a year.  I breathe better, smell better, feel better and I'm still getting my nicotine.

We've got a really good thread going on them right now.

I quit smoking in January using chantix.  Don't listen to the e-cig fans, you're just replacing one habit with another one.  That's like dipping to quit smoking.

If you use chantix as directed it is a great tool, by the 4th day of taking it I had no desire to smoke and just quit when I finished the pack I was on.  I continued to take it for about a month and then quit taking it.  You are supposed to take it for 90 days just to make sure that your quitting "sticks" I guess.

I used it. Worked like a champ. Smoked 10 years and quitting was the easiest thing I ever did. I just stopped smoking. NO withdrawls, no nothing.

Wife = same thing

Mom = Same thing. Smoked 40 years, been smoke free for 5 years.

I have the Ecig. The object of the game is not to be addicted to nicotine IMO

Never understood turning someone that wants to stop smoking onto smoking something else.

I had the same side effects most people do.  Gas and crazy dreams.  The gas you just have to live with, it's not horrible, and the dreams don't happen as long as you take your second pill several hours before bedtime.  I don't recommend it to others, but I actually only took one pill a day, in the morning.  That was enough for me, but everyone is different.

Wife had 1 dream, but it was a good one

My wife and I took it and we both quit after taking it for 30 days. (We did continue to take it for 3 months to decrease the chances of a relapse). The only side effects that we had were the vivid/weird dreams, and coffee just didn't taste as good as it use to. We still had occasional urges but that has diminished over time. It will be 4 years next week.

Dipping is much safer tham smoking.
Swedish snus is even safer (carinogens are reduced to almost nil).
But the liars at the FDA won't tell you that.

Nictotine in and of itself is NOT harmful....it's the combustion byproducts of a cigarette that are.

Nicotine is just one thing that is addictive about  smoking....it's also the rituals, the throat hit, and also the alkaloids present in tobacco....
E-cigs don't make up for everything, but they come close enough for me.
They use the same ingredients that have been used in fog machines and asthma inhalers for years with a bit of nicotine and flavoring.

The E-cig actually gives the user much less nictotine than a regular cigarette with none of the alkaloids or carcinogens...it actually takes a bit fo getting used to...
But for me, it works...I don't have crazy dreams, I don't give my money to a shitty doctor or a pharmaceutical company....and I'm not paying for some government jerkoff's pet project in the form of tobacco taxes.

But fuck it, if you've tried everything the big pharmaceutical companies make to quit smoking and can't, then you may as well go back to smoking rather than switch to something 1,000 time less harmfull.

So you took chantix for the full 90 days and then went back to smoking?  Since you've "tried everything they make"?  I'm glad not to be addicted to anything, no teat I have to pop in my mouth all day, be it cigs, e-cigs, dip, or anything else.

Learn about vaping instead.

If you insist on chantix, at least know what is possible.

I knew Carter Albrecht, he was a nice guy

I quit two years ago using it.  Like any other approach you really have to want to quit.

If you want to quit it will help you.

I used it and quit and it has been over three years.
