What's the big difference with all these? I usually install a tac latch on the stock one and call it a day. Why are some CH's so expensive other than brand name?
I do like the one you rack like a pistol slide but that's too high speed low drag for me. |

BCM or Milspec or Strike Industries are g2g. I'm just not going to spend $95 on a charging handle. Nice as the raptors or Geissele's may be. I bought a mod4 last week for $44, not too bad I guess. For a while I was gobbling up the Strike CH-EL when they were $25-$29, but they raised their price to bcm level. I still like that it's melonited or some other slick coating and is also 7075, but it doesn't matter that much. I just want to 7075, mainly. I only have to use the CH a couple times per shooting session. Milspec is of course the most comfortable for slung rifles. I spend a lot of time with a slung rifle, and the bigger latches will get noticable after a bit. One of the least important parts though, imo. Like takedown pins or trigger guards, i just want it to work reliably.
I don't want to spend as much as an entire assembled upper receiver costs on a CH, on principle. I'll probably go milspec for my next build down the line, starting to have too many extended latches on guns that don't really need em. |

The tac latch can rip through the charging handle . The Bravo latch hit's a wall on the back of the latch so that can't happen. With that said I find the Ambi too big and bulky. I like the medium Bravo Company charging handle and have them on most of my guns. Noted. |

Also much easier to manipulate an ambi handle if you are slung up prone and are using your right hand to work the charging handle Quoted:

Quoted: I like the CORE-15 V2 charging handles at $25-30. The latch is not obnoxiously huge but still bigger than milspec. Like the BCM, it depresses against a wall so as not to bind or break the charging handle when not using the 2-finger charging method. I was in their shop and seen the charging handles on the wall and bought one as an impulse buy. It's actually a good charging handle,I like it and it's been on my rifle for at least 5 years. |

Link Hm. I have a couple of those and a couple bcm mod 4. I might like the strike better. Pretty much the same but strike is slicker. Either is fine. |
