In the 1970's an old girlfriend's mom just loved him but never bought any albums or seen him on tv, only listening to him on the radio. Her husband decided to surprise her with tickets to a live performance in Dayton, OH. During a semi-low volume part of his first song, she proclaimed very loudly "OMG! HE'S BLACK!!!" To which Mr Pride replied, "Why, yes I am, Ma'am and I haven't been able to change that." Hilarious and I've always enjoyed his music.
