Apparently .gov/DoD has contracted with GovPlanet to liquidate surplus HMMWV's. Could be some good deals available. Anyone tried to purchase one yet?
Cheap Hummers |

You dont know this yet but you dont want one. I was responsible for the maintenance of several hundred of those POS. They break if you use them and then they break if you don't use them. They are louder inside of them then they are outside of them. They are slow.
I had fun in a HMMWV once.... They are pretty good at running over smallish trees and shit when you dont feel like going the "long way" on a road. |

And they almost feel spry if you put them on a huge diet. Still, wide and practically need an on-board mechanic to keep running. ...I think someone put it best "would you buy a car driven by teenagers for 10-20 years?" |

I don't know about tanks, but I'd rather maintain and drive a Bradley over a hummer any day. Smoother ride, more room, doesn't get stuck any where but ice. Oh, you can't power slide a hummer. |

Yea but you legally can't drive them on the road.... This is the bad part of the deal If they're anything like CUCVs, many states will let you register them with the bill of sale. That's how I registered my m1009. |

I have a different opinion about the HMMWV's. We own a total of twenty-one HMMWV's and five H1's and we use them on a daily basis as customer transport vehicles. We put a little under 1,000 miles weekly on vehicles that get used daily. We don't take the titled HMMWV's (purchased before GovPlanet sales) off-road and they keep running. For the most part, each HMMWV has a driver assigned to it so they take care of their trucks. They are simple, parts are relatively cheap, the body won't rust and they don't break down us.
