I received a message through the gunbroker system on one of my auctions.

REGARDING ITEM:   1468XXXXX

––- begin message ––-

I am wondering why you only accept US Postal Money Orders, the most
expensive ones to purchase? I have never had a problem with any money
order.

––- end message ––-

This is the guys last purchase of a total of 2

My Response:

The reason is they clear the same day they arrive.
Other money orders can be stopped and I have had 2 stopped for no reason.
Postal money orders are expensive?
They cost a dollar.

If you buy win one of my auctions feel free to take the dollar off my end.

That is pretty cheap.  He probably tries to bargain with the grocer over the price of Ramen noodles.

Some people don't know how severe the scamming problem is, and get butt-hurt when 'they' are mandated to buy through a safer channel.

You handled that well.

Good job.  I have no issue with the cost, its the hassle of waiting in line at the USPS office behind the women that had 20 certified letters last time that I got a MO.

What a cheapskate.  A USPS money order is the only safe way to go on your end, and he should understand that.  I think I may have told him to go pound sand, so IMHO you did pretty good.  Funny how someone will go drop a buck on a BK burger they'll shit out in two hours, but bitch when it's a firearm that THEY WANT.

I once had a merchant try to bargain with me over a FREE credit card terminal.

That's the way some folks are.

When I worked retail I had a guy ask me what the cheapest printer was we had.  I showed it to him.  He then asked if we had one cheaper hidden somewhere so that customers couldn't see it.

My response was going to be "yes, there is sir, take a pen, put it in your right hand.  Now stick your left hand index finger on the parallel port, and start writing on some paper."

Did he want cash in hand to start processing with you?
