I'm looking for a new truck. Needs to be a crew cab 4x4. I've had my Z71 for 9 years and loved it, but I like what I see in the F150 too. Talk me into or out of it. If you like the Ford, ecoboost or v8??
Update: I went with the Ram 1500 Laramie Limited. Pretty much tricked out. I found a 2013 with 2k miles on it for about $7000 less than I was going to pay for a new 2014 that had the same options. I got the Hemi......loving it! |

We have had a 2013 5.0 f150 4x4 for a year now. Quieter than most cars I have owned (Honda accords/Acura Cl's) Gets about 15mpg in the city and 18 on a trip we took to Florida. Tons of rear leg room. Would buy again.
4 wheel drive worked perfect in the deep snow we had last winter. |

Has body rust really been an issue for any of the big three in the last 10 years? I live in the rust belt and my truck is starting to go but it's also 13 years old with a 1/4 million miles on it. Brakes lines on the other hand.... Brake lines have always been a problem with any pickup I ever owned, Ford or Chevy. They make a new copper alloy brake line that bends and flares easily and doesn't rust. When it comes time to replace them that's the stuff to use. Did my Chevy last fall and won't have to revisit that ever again. |

The Chevys nowadays look like shit and feel cheap to me. I think Ford makes a better truck.
Also, the 2015 F150s should be out relatively soon. Which means if you wait a little for a 2014, odds are you can get a killer deal. Oh, and I'm a v8 guy, but looking at the power/tq curve for the EB, I'd probably go with that if buying a new truck today. |

Our newer Tahoe is a POS. No way would I buy amother GM type variant.
Ours is a 2009 LT with every upgrade with 77k miles. My wife drives it about 2 miles per day and we take long trips in it. Dash is cracked in 4 places Radio and AC buttons have the paint rubbed off Cruise controls button has the paint coming off Steering wheel finish is peeling Interior chrome door handles are seperating which has caused cuts on hands Rear arms rests are both broken and wont stay tight All four front upper and lower ball joints are shot at 75k miles with stock wheels and tires Paint is faded and peeling off roof AC hose that carries oil burst This thing is a POS. Looks great but built like crap. |

I like the ride of GM trucks better than anything but I'd go with Ford. I refuse to contribute to the success of Government Motors. Patriotism > My personal needs In that case you might want to take a good hard look at Ford's political positions and agenda. |
| i like my chevy but i also liek to keep an open mind. i can say my chevy rids nicer then my dads dodge. mine is a 05 and his is a 13 or so. also one thing i will point out is that the dodge has one of the worst seats that my ass has sat on. almost like it was a last thought when designing them. i haven't ridden in a ford so i cant say. best bet is to just spend a weekend test driving some from every make and take note on ones you like. then go to some forums and ask/see what kind of things are poping up as problems. |
