Hi All,

Any of you use or have experience with child gps trackers?  Starting to get interested in one for my 3 yo girl...

Thanks

- the 2 I looked at TRAX & Pocketfinder seem to not be quite what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Where does a three-year-old run around loose that you have to track her?

More of an abduction type scenario...

Cooper1,

Mine little one is a few years older, but I did some research on this recently and went with a watch from these guys:

http://preciseinnovation.com/

The watch is for older kids, but they have a band that might fit better on younger kids. One bonus is it sets off an alarm if it is unclasped by an unauthorized person. They have 3 monitoring plans, but you can turn them off and on at a whim, and are pretty cheap (less than $20 a month). Mine updates her location every 10 minutes, but can run an "on demand" locate of her a certain amount of times a month (depending on monitoring plan). The app works good on my iPhone, and tracking is fairly accurate (not down to the foot, but will usually get you within 6 meters).

My one complaint is the geofencing portion. It's a little overactive, for lack of a better word. If the kid leaves the geofence, it will tell me she left...then she's back...then she left again...until I finally just pull it up and see where she is.

The watch was about $90 at Walmart.

Hope that helps. As a more everyday solution, I found immense value in putting her in sneakers that squeaked. She loved it, and it was impossible to NOT know where she was when we were out and about. Regardless, good luck!!!

Thank you very much for that.  I was initially looking looking for something about watch battery size.  Something I could hide in her clothing or in hers shoes.  Since she is a dissassembler of anything and everything you give her LOL.  There were very few GPS products available, which I actually find surprising in today's world.

Anyway, I will look at the watch style.  It may be a year or two though until she would wear it.

Regards
