Are Chimei monitors any good?  I saw an ad for a 22" widescreen LCD for $189.

I just ordered one yesterday, should be here before the end of the week. The reviews I've seen seem say its pretty good for most computing stuff but not a great choice if your going to be using for watching HD media, I ordered the one thats about $250 22" w/ built in speakers and media reader. I'll give a review of it after I get it.

Avoid. The day after the 30 day newegg warrenty expired my DVI cable on my 22" Chimei went dead. One second I was surfing Arfcom, the next only my secondary monitor is running. THERE IS NO TECH SUPPORTG on their website, only a dozen numbers for places in Asia. I was lured in by the price and the reviews, but just bite the bullet and spend the money on a dell monitor. I have an old dell 15" flat panel, my roommate has their new 22", and I use 24" Ultrasharps in the computing labs, and they are all top quality.

Well I got mine, picture looks nicer then the old LCD I was using, cheap bastards didn't include an HDMI cable, just power, vga, audio, and usb/firewire, can't find any volume control for the built in speakers but I have other speakers I'll be using anyway. Still have to pop the new video card in then I'll see how HD video's look.
